Very strong, masking two unID SS stations on 760 and 759.7 noted
0855 when Guyana had strong open carrier. Subsequently it came to
light that 5950 was back on air, monitored in October from Aruba
and Venezuela, but with very weak signals. Had been off-air since
last year when the primary shortwave antenna was vandalized.

Fairly good initially, all alone on channel and better than
// 9735.85. Soon fading down rapidly circa 0835+ and almost
gone by 0845.

Woman w/ news at 0259. Through loud low growl from someone
slightly off frequency. It seemed to be carrying "Canal 9
Libertad" promo again at 0308 and other program information.
SIO 333-1. It seemed to be carrying mostly news and is not
to be confused with the Venezuelan here.

as R. Splendid in WRTH and on a sign seen by Ken MacHarg on a
recent trip), - 13 OCT, 0443-0500 - mixing with Brazil here at
0443 (mentioning tangos) and at 0457 w/ R. 9-90 slogan ID (not
as listed in WRTH), coffee ad, tangos, fanfare, local mentions
at 0500 (pips not noted). + 13 OCT, 0437-0511 - Deep fading,
o/u a Brazilian w/ religion (probably R. Record); woman hosts
program of tangos, but faded or static crash during every
putative ID ! Nevertheless, ads revealed this was undoubtedly
Argentinian. SIO 332. + 14 OCT, 0306-0319, 0333-0404 - Man and
woman in SS w/ news, ads, temperature in Buenos Aires at 0315.
Still news at 0333, headlines at 0357:30, no obvious ID, but
heard "9-90"'s clearly. Deep fades, bad QRM from CBY, SIO 222.
+ 14 OCT, 0420 - Woman announcer with selections of tango music;
0435 "La nueva eventa" cited several times with reference to
Argentina, into vocal at 0437.

Possibly this one with mentions of Colombia.

9 OCT, 0334-0337 - HUGE signal w/ R. del Plata ID's and numerous
local ads. Hard to believe this is only 5 kW nights !
+ 10 OCT, 0605-0615 - fair w/ news items about Buenos Aires,
"Del Plata, del 65 anos" ID, tango music. + 12 OCT, 0319 -
Classical vocals and waltz music program. Surprisingly strong.
+ 13 OCT, 0129 - Man ahead of 2 pips at 0130; clear ID with music
fanfare at 0135. Great signal. + 14 OCT, 0635 - Male announcer
with talk about tangos; then Ray Charles vocal selections to
clear ID at 0652. Very strong signal dominating channel at
this time.
1030 BRAZIL, R. Olinda, ZYI777, Olinda (20/5 kW) - 11 OCT, 2330 -
This stn as ID'ed by others with soccer game in progress; good o/
Argentinian which had time pips and promo announcements.
+ 13 OCT, 2126 - ID "Radiolinda, Olinda, estado do Pernambuco"
heard after PP music. The ID is probably Radio Olinda condensed
together. + 13 OCT, 2142 - undoubtedly this on early fade-in; PP
talk & low growl starting to mix w/ WBZ groundwave. <R>

9 OCT, 0032 - Strong w/ ID, male announcer, then jingle.
+ 10 OCT, 0550 - Many IDs, political ads. + 10 OCT, 0620 -
Good, Radio Capital jingle and TC, Sao Paulo mentions.
+ 13 OCT, 0100 - Caught clear ID, another station reference
with jingle at 0103. Very strong. + 13 OCT, 0128 - PP talk;
huge.
