their own programme, as well as a special programme from a "Studio"
Pirate called MEGA Shortwave from 08.15 - 08.45 hrs UTC
Both Radio RJK and MEGA Shortwave can be contacted at:
			P O BOX 16-002
			TAMATEA
			NAPIER
			NEW ZEALAND

Information on Radio RJK and KIWI Radio, as well as others can be
viewed at: http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/9885
then go to the section " New Zealand Free Radio Stations"
and take your pick. - Good Surfing.

Last Sunday ( the 7th Sept ) Our one hour programme was heard via
IRRS-SW in Italy at 19.00 hrs UTC on 3985 KHz ( Our sincere thanks to
Radio 510 International for arranging this for us - THANKS STEVIE. ),
with an excellent to very good signal being heard all over Europe and
the Middle East.

We have been experiancing some difficulties with Email over the past
four days.
If you have sent any to us, can you please RE-SEND, as we have "lost"
some of the mail received.
We ARE STILL AT: kiwiradio@xxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks.

Now onto other items that have been recieved in the last week:

		AUSTRALIAN FM PIRATE

There is a Pirate on in Bundaberg , Australia called NOW FM on 105.1Mhz
Stereo.
It started last weekend as CLASSIC HITS. The Sole man behind the mic is
"DJ S".From past experience it sounds about 5 to 10 watts.
It started this morning at around 6.00 AM.No phone number or contact
details announced and a small music library, but great nonetheless.

EXTRA VIA SRS - SWEDEN:

RADIO TORENVALK INTERNATIONAL will be on the air the coming Sunday on
9241 kHz. This Sunday the frequency was once again tried out by RADIO
TONAIR who had a fair signal here in Scandinavia but only a weak signal
or no reception at all on the continent.
Op Hans is confident of getting a better result than his pal Jos of
Tonair.
So guys...listen out for the kestrel of the airwaves...

ALSO:

RADIO FREE MASSACHUSETTS will probably be relayed by NEPRS this coming
weekend on the 76 mb. There might be a joint broadcast between NEPRS and
STARSHINE RADIO, so more crazy music and perhaps more relays will
follow.

UK pirate RADIO ZODIAC is going to run a test to North America on 7
September (UTC) from 0015 to 0700 UTC on the frequency of 6400 kHz.
Steve Kent's hoping that the time of year and the fact he's running all
night (in the UK) will make conditions favorable for some NA listeners
to hear the broadcast.
If heard, *please* report to him via the Wuppertal maildrop.
He will be QSLing this broadcast!

Good luck to all and 73's,

       GLENN HAUSER'S SHORTWAVE/DX REPORT 97-12, Sept. 11, 1997

THIS WEEK ON WORLD OF RADIO 909, some of the stories you'll miss if you
don't listen: sad news about Arthur Cushen, Bob Padula,
Larry Miller; where to find more DX news from us; WRMI specials;
merger frenzy in US radio; Guyana relaying VOA; World Music
Radio quits; Nigeria prepares to jam Kudirat; stations move to
5 MHz band despite heavy utility; and much more. See the summary
on our website http://www.grove.net/~ghauser, or in RFPI Weekly
Update (Hauser)

WORLD OF RADIO scheduling. Tho it did not happen the first week,
subsequently the Sat 0600 on WWCR did simulcast on 3210, 5070.
The extra airing on WGTG 5085-USB UT Mon at first at 0515, but
Sept 1 was at 0435; as well as usual UT Tue 0400+
 (Hauser)

(Ed note: Having been in contact with Athur's Wife Relda, re Arthur's
heath. He is still very much in the world of the living, and despite
continuing serious health problems, he will no doubt be around for a
while yet to get those stations that have eluded his competent and
professional manner of DXing those stations most never get to hear.

THE WORLD ON RADIO:

Due to popular demand, my on-line publication "The World on Radio" has
now changed back to its original country order format.
It now however includes also programme information of some stations
(more in the near future), which makes it the ideal companion for every
DXer and programme listener.

Have a look at it on the following page :

http://www.club.innet.be/~ind1570

The file is now reduced to 64kB (instead of the earlier 240 kB).

People who would still like to get the frequency list, can do so by
sending
me an e-mail : hb@xxxxxxxx Please specify which word processor you are
using.
