After a few days you will manage most of the tricks.

I agree very much!
I often hear from my friends testing new receivers that the adventage of the
certain receiver is its many controll buttons on the front pannel. They say
it is much more easier to controll the receiver compared to the "menu
tuning" of the AR7030.
My experience with the AR7030 is that the combination with the "remote
control" is very handy and fast. To control the main functions is a
one-step-action. Other functions that need 2 or 3 steps I use very seldom.
The only disadventage is that it is impossible to scan memories downwards in
one step. When you scan memories upwards, you just press the MEMORY button,
but if you want to go downwards you must press the "-" (minus) button and
MEMORY.
Two VFO´s is a big adventage too, I use it very often (practically every
time) and I wonder very much why such a useful function is not present at
such high class receivers like NDR 545 (and the whole series).
So do not be affraid of the AR7030 and its control, it is really easy.
