On 4/26/2000
between 1003Z and 1039Z hearing NBC, Port Moresby on 4890.001 KHz. Signal
strength is –90 dBm, SINPO 44333. At start news, later discussion on adopting
the electric chair to snuff some of the current brand of thugs that are
apparently making PNG into something less than a tropical paradise. Also heard
parallel to NBC during news were:
3325 KHz R.
Bougainville
3395 KHz R.
Eastern Highlands
3905 KHz R. New
Ireland
These last three
were much weaker but clearly parallel. Listened for all the other PNG stations
with no success.
I tuned to the
Solomon Islands and found them at 4960.005 KHz at 1012Z. Signal strength –110
dBm. Barely audible but a female in French was heard.
