Peter Gzowski dies

TORONTO - Peter Gzowski, author, columnist and one of the pillars of public
broadcasting in Canada, has died at the age of 67. The host of CBC Radio's
Morningside from 1982 to 1997, and This Country in the Morning from 1971 to
1974, died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, due to emphysema.


Earlier this month, another CBC icon passed away, Frank Shuster, at age 85.
Along with his late partner Johnny Wayne, the Wayne and Shuster show was a
comedy fixture on CBC radio and TV for almost 6 decades.
