[HCDX] Fri Morn DXing

Bolivia, 3310, Radio Mosoj Chaski, 1025-1035 Noted
music with a male

and a female talking in Spanish over the music. This
continues during

the period. Signal was poor to threshold. (Chuck
Bolland, February

12, 2010)

Peru, 4746.90, Radio Huanta Dos Mil, 1040-1100 Noted a
person in

Spanish language comments. There happens to be a
utility station

on this same freq that is mixing with Radio Huanta Dos
Mil, making

copy difficult. Signal was poor here. (Chuck Bolland,
February 12,

2010)

Bolivia, 5952.40, Radio Emisoras Pio XII (pres),
1055-1101, Using the WR G305e,

noticed a carrier on the spectrum display at 5952.40,
sandwiched between

WYFR on 5950 and a weaker station on 5955. However, as
far as Pio XII is

concerned, I couldn't catch any audio. I am thinking
they left their transmitter

running, but no program may be scheduled. Just a guess.
The fact remains

that I can't pull out any audio to help with the ID.
Rechecked at 1149 and

the carrier was gone! (Chuck Bolland, February 12,
2010)

Korea, 6002.90 Echo Of Hope,(pres) 1105-1110, Again
using the WR G305e, noted a

carrier display on this frequency, but could not pull
out any audio; however, the

station is there. Tried with the 545 and had the same
negative results. Rechecked

at 1150 with the NRD545 and still couldn't hear any
audio. However, at

1151 noted a 5 second tone that came up which was being
transmitted every

5 seconds. That means something - doesn't it? I
seem to recall that Russia

uses this type of entry before they transmit VOR? I
retuned to 6005 and can

hear the 5 second carrier there too, so it's not being
transmitted on 6003 as I

assumed earlier. However, the carrier for Korea is on
6003 still. See the

Russia logging for WYFR below. (Chuck Bolland, February
12, 2010)

note: Most of the above logging is me thinking out
loud.

Peru, 6019.20, Radio Victoria, 1115-1120 With the
usual format for this time of

the day, noted a male in Spanish language religious
comments. Had to tune

out the Het from Australia on 6020 in the process.
Victoria was poor. Don't ask

my why I must log this station every morning, I don't
know? Maybe it's the

challenge? (Chuck Bolland, February, 12, 2010)

Korea, 6285, Voice of Korea, 1135-1145, Noted a
program of music, Korean style,

at tune in. Between selections, a male comments in
French. Signal was poor.

(Chuck Bolland, February 12, 2010)

Russia, 6005, WYFR, Komosomolsk, 1200-1205 Noted 5
second tones prior to the hour, then on the

hour WYFR's theme music followed by intro in language
Korean by a female.

This was followed by a bunch of religious music and
news by a male. Signal was

fair. (Chuck Bolland, February 12, 2010)
