INDIA/BRAZIL??? 3364.961 AIR Delhi, India?? and 3365 R. Cultura, Araraquara, Brazil?? Definitely 2 stations here first noted at 2350. Stronger signal, which was pres. India, was just below 3365. Tlk by what sounded like 2 different soft-spoken men anncrs in Indian dialect. W joined in at 2355. Mx on both stns at 2357-2359 and M briefly in what sounded like PT. The apparent ZY on 3365 coming up a little after 0005. Will try to be on the freq by 2330 tomorrow. (11 Feb)
PERU 4955 R. Cultural Amauta (pres.) 2353 tlk in SP by W and M just before I started getting the computer/Perseus set up. Went off suddenly in mid-sentence by W at 2359:53. Readable signal but didn't hear any ID. (11 Feb)
PERU 4857.41 R. La Hora (pres.) 2355 sounded like usual nx pgm by M anncr. Some sound bites. Just not quite clear enough w/CODAR QRM to copy. Went off at 0019 while I was checking 3365 briefly. (11-12 Feb)
PERU 5485.52 R. Reina de la Selva 0024 great signal w/campo mx. 0025 into lively Huayno. ID between songs while tuned in on the Perseus. 0027 another live anmnt by M host w/song anmnt "Andina ??", ment of Lima, gave what sounded like a phone number, TC, ID, and ".cantando de la noche.". Back to mx. Nice signal. (12 Feb)
PERU 4824.47 LV de la Selva Coming in at 2355 w/canned anmnt by M, then lively Tropical mx before ToH. 0030 end of anmnt by M and more of the same mx. 0033 very short canned pres. promo, back to mx. Pgm promo's at 0049. Seemed gone when I checked at 0102. (11-12 Feb)
UNID. 5955 Costa Rica, TIQ, or Guatemala, TGNA back on?? 0034 tlk by W in SP, then generic LA mx. W returned at 0041 and had sound bite of M reporter. Deep f/out 0039-0041. 0051-0053 M anncr sounded canned. 0054 canned anmnt by M over piano mx. 0056- LA mx w/male chorus. Obliterated by 5950 and 5960 at 0100. Still there and a little audio poking through though. Tinny audio, and not at all sounding like a major established broadcaster. Tough w/who else but WYFR splattering all over. R. Netherlands here at 0900. Other than that, nothing heard in the morning to 1103. (12 Feb)
BRAZIL 11915 R. Gaucha 0110 M in PT w/apparent nx, 0111 W joined in and gave ment of Gaucha. Decent signal w/S.F. at 94, A at 6, and K at 1. Our MUF was 12 mhz and over the northern hemisphere was 7 mhz. (12 Feb)
NORTH KOREA 11730.05 V.O. Korea 0017 usual slanted nx by alternating M and W in EG. Actually quoted "..the South Korea's, Voice of the People...". ID at end of nx at 0019. Fair. (12 Feb)
SURINAM 4989.98v R. Apintie 0610, pgm of Rom. ballads. Nice singing "Apintie" ID jingle by women chorus at 0615 between songs. Into "Crazy for You" by Madonna, another ballad by W vclist, then "Nightshift" by The Commodores, and canned ID by M. Caught another ID anmnt by W at 0637. 0704 W anncr w/ment of Surinam and ID. No change in reception conditions at 0800 check. Fairly strong signal, but would have been really easy if the modulation would have been up to 100% and there wasn't any splatter QRM from the 4985 ZY. Did drift up about 10 or 15 hz. (12 Feb)
Used both NRD-535D and Perseus receivers with T2FD and Tee antenna's
