[HCDX] 8-10 April Loggings
MONGOLIA 12085 V.O. Mongolia 0959 usual IS twice and M w/ID, then fanfare and into CH pgm. 1029 IS and M w/ID again, into EG pgm. 1048 EG ID and cultural/geographic pgm abt some specific region of Mongolia. Was getting up to decent level at 1000, but faded by 1030, then started coming back up. Wiped out by 12080 DRM at 1057. Still not enough for a nice recording or report. (8 April)
OMAN 17790 BBC relay 1200 synth. mx, 5+1 time ticks, fanfare and ID by M "BBC World Service, this is the ??". 1229 M w/e-mail addr. Weak and gradually got worse by 1400. Clear though. This is probably the first time since the 70's that I intentionally tuned for this relay site!! (9 April)
CLANDESTINE 9965.47 R. Republica 1027 rapid tlk in SP by M anncr. Ment of Cuba. 1040 just caught ID and sked at recheck. Sometimes the jammer just obliterated it, sometimes this was easy copy. (9 April)
MONGOLIA 12085 V.O. Mongolia while waiting for the EG pgm, noticed it went off the air for about 20 seconds at 1028. Wonder if they change antennas. The signal doesn't seem as strong as for the CH pgm from 1000-1030. (9 April)
PALAU 9930 T8WH World Harvest R. IDs and usual canned sked and call ID at 1059, then off. Good signal. (9 April)
VIETNAM 12019.36 V.O. Vietnam 1130 really nice signal w/IDs at the start of the EG pgm, then into nx. (9 April)
BRAZIL 15190.13v R. Inconfidencia "The Boxer" by Simon & Garfunkle at 0024. Nice "Inconfidencia" ID at 0028, then canned anmnts, 0032 ID/promo by M, and back to mx. Variable freq. QRM from 15190. Nice to hear this again. (10 April)
OMAN 9410 BBC relay On the air in the middle of the pgm w/promo, 5+1 time ticks, and immediately into next pgm w/out ID. Fair and clear but very noisy. (10 April)
UNID. 9855 UNID. Distorted signal at 1108 t/in w/what sounded like an IS, tlk by W in possibly Asian lang over mx, 3+1 time ticks. 1116 W in EG w/ment of "You're listening to.". Couldn't really copy anything after that. 1122 soft ballad by W. CRI came on at 1200. Weak. Certainly seems to be an Asian. (10 April)
