Dear Radio Friend,

(128kb)(27MB), broadcast quality (16MB), and quickdownload or streaming form (6MB)
(28:59) Links at page bottom
(If you have access to Audioport there is a highest quality version posted up there {27MB}

This week's show features stories from China Radio International, NHK Japan, Radio
Deutsche-Welle, Radio Havana Cuba, and the Voice of Russia.
>From CHINA- Conoco-Philips say they have cleaned up half of the massive oil spill off the
coast of China. Iran claims to have shot down an unmanned US spy plane. A quirky report on
the use of texting on cell phones to aid people trying to break their tobacco addiction.
>From JAPAN- Japan released a map showing radiation levels in the air 150 km away from
Fukushima to be as bad as that 50 km away. Beef raised for meat in Japan has been found
to have been contaminated with radiation from rice straw. The EU has required member
nations to draw up final disposal plans for spent nuclear fuel rods. The US has been briefed
on Japanese plans for eliminating nuclear power. The US has continued conducting sub-
critical nuclear weapons testing underground in Nevada.
>From GERMANY- There is a Eurozone summit in Brussels to discuss the spreading financial
crisis in Europe, with the possibility of the demise of the Euro.
>From CUBA- Nicaraguans celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the Sandinista revolution, and
President Ortega wants a referendum demanding that the US pay damages for its
involvement in the civil war. A BP oil pipeline ruptured in the North Slope of Alaska last
weekend- a second oil spill occurred in Montana on the Blackfeet Indian reservation. Russia
has rejected the adoption of a UN resolution against Syria, similar to the one against Libya.
>From RUSSIA- As the US faces worsening economic news requiring huge cuts in social
spending, the so-called "Defense budget" continues to soar. US officials have made it clear
that the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, or CTBT, will not be sent to the Senate for
ratification.

I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at
http://radio.mediageek.net
All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify
me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if
you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming
version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed
internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the
smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application
(RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 6:30pm (PDST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you
might be able to stream via < http://www.kzyx.org >
There are several other streams that work better- < http://www.freakradio.org >Freak Radio
Santa Cruz now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am.(PDST)
NEWLY CORRECTED!!! The Shortwave Report may be downloaded as a podcast from <

I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering
how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas
are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for
production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have
donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)
