The latest radio heritage feature on the Radio New Zealand
International Mailbox program is broadcast:

Continuing the contemporary Hawaiian radio series and visiting the FM
radio stations you'll find in Honolulu with an exclusive review of
websites, programs, personalities and interesting facts and comments
from David Ricquish of the Radio Heritage Foundation.
The Honolulu FM dial is dominated by several clusters of stations
owned by major broadcasters such as Clearchannel and Salem all based
on the US mainland, and there are relatively few locally owned and
operated stations.
Listeners hear much the same music, formats and other content as
those in similar sized radio markets in other parts of the USA.
Reggae and island music stations do exist and this program will visit
some of these locally flavored stations as well.
