New law asks radio stations environmental studies in Easter
Submitted by radiofono.gr on Fri, 03/21/2014 - 18:03.

Disruption may cause new law that requires all radio and television stations, whose
antennas are not authorized construction of EETT, you must submit an environmental
impact assessment and planning radio until April 30. Given that a large number of
radio antennas across Greece are not licensed, the preparation of necessary studies
mediates the Easter holidays will be painful and costly.
This is Article 126 of the Law " Reorganization of the Greek Police, Fire Brigade and
the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, Upgrading Services of the Ministry of
Public Order and Citizen Protection and regulate other issues concerning the Ministry
of Public Order and Citizen Protection and other provisions " which was passed on 15
March and is pending publication in the Official Gazette.
The studies prepared by technical agencies with not inconsiderable cost. Those
responsible enough to submit their applications to the competent authorities and then
have 18 months to receive answers and complete the process. The required documents,
which will now be filed electronically within the deadline, are:
a) Reference to the Civil Aviation
b) Application for the grant of rights to use radio frequencies or proof of
legitimate use of broadcast frequencies
and making
c) Study of radio to a positive opinion of the National Atomic Energy Commission
d) Environmental Impact Study or event request for the Standard Environmental
Commitments
e) Urban study
f) Applications possibly required in case
This law essentially gives a half month extension, in a previous deadline set by the
4053 Act two years ago , whereby the deadline for this process expired on March 6,
2014, that a week after the passage of the law. However, it is unknown how many radio
stations were informed of this process and were able to begin indirect crisis, given
the costs. Furthermore the number of antennas has increased recently, as allowed
placement for multiple transponders with wider coverage of radio stations.
The law also includes sop to Digea, as regards channels .
A cost several thousand euros for the studies may be the final blow for radio
stations whose finances are "in threshold": the recent period several stations closed
for fines of this size, while others were sold at such prices, which means that the
cost studies may exceed the total value of the station. Expect to see if there will
be a new extension and what will be the reactions of radio stations.
