[HCDX] Glenn Hauser logs December 8-9-10, 2015

** ANGUILLA. 6090, Dec 8 at 0710, CB is *still* off, since Dec 5. I think the day frequency 11775 was back later on Dec 8; 6090 back on by 0112 check Dec 9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MALI. 5995, Dec 8 at 0707, S6 open carrier, dead air, no modulation audible, presumably ORTM (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1060+, Dec 9 at 0711, off-frequency one is ``La EstaciÃn de Todos``, presumably XERDO in Tamaulipas, last measured in November at 1060.04 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. Another anomaly check long after the late-November ice storm, Dec 7 after 1825 UT on the PL-880:
92.1, KAMG-LP Enid is finally remodulating with gospel music in Spanish, mono. It seems the carrier never went off, just dead air
94.3, KLGB-LP Enid is *still* off while sibling station on same tower, 99.9, KVBN-LP, is still on, never interrupted
98.1, WWLS-FM, OKC is still off or very QRP
101.9, KTST, OKC, ditto
102.7, KJYO, OKC, ditto
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. Earthquake report: tremor felt for a few seconds at 0458:25 UT Dec 8; does not make the USGS minimum setting of 2.5, so must be relatively close (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ROMANIA. 6015-6020-6025, Dec 8 at 0708, DRM noise at S6, i.e. RRI in German this half hour at 307 degrees, carrying on to North America. The HFCC sked for RRO (not to be confused with RRIndonesia)
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B15&broadc=RRO
still has not figured out a way to show which transmissions are DRM; the ``all`` frequency sked does, however, with an N for numÃrique. Both of them claim the power for this Tsiganeshti is 300 kW, altho one of the rationales for DRM is getting the same results at reduced power. Is it really at full power???

These also still show no entries for RRO on 7315, even tho instead of 7335, the RRI Spanish hour at 00-01 has been there in B-15, clashing with WHRI, heard already in early November by Alan Roe, England (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1803, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1802 monitoring: confirmed Wed Dec 9 after 1415 on WRMI 9955; no jamming but some ACI from 9960 after 1428, i.e. T8WH PALAU with a Japanese clandestine to Korea. Also confirmed Wed Dec 9 at 2200 on WBCQ 7489.9, propagating well now into winter.

WORLD OF RADIO 1803 monitoring: confirmed first SW broadcast of 1230 UT Thursday Dec 10 at 1252 check on WRMI 9955; atop pulse jamming: tnx a lot, Arnie! Next:
Thu 2100 WRMI 7570 to NW
Fri 0200 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Fri 2130 WRMI 15770 to NE
Fri 2130.6 WRMI 7570 to NW
Sat 0730 HLR 7265-CUSB to SW
Sat 1530 HLR 7265-CUSB to SW
Sat 2030v WA0RCR 1860-AM ND?
Sun 0415v WA0RCR 1860-AM ND?
Sun 0900 WRMI 5850 to NW [NEW! But not last week]
Mon 0400v WBCQ 5110v-CUSB Area 51 to WSW [pre-empted last week]
Mon 0430 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Tue 1200 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Wed 1415.5 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Wed 2200 WBCQ 7490v to WSW
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9329.95-CUSB, approx., Dec 9 at 0240, very poor signal detectable, presumably WBCQ with `Amateur Radio Roundtable`, now scheduled from 0200 to 0330 or later on UT Wednesdays. Propagation very poor with low MUF. I`ve suggested to W5KUB that he should try to get on 7490 or 5109.7-CUSB instead during the winter (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 930, Dec 9 at 0709 UT with WKY OKC nulled, singing ID for ``Classic Hits, WTAD``, Quincy IL (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VATICAN [and non]. 6070, Dec 8 at 0709, Vatican Radio IS at S9+10, *way* over CFRX, poor thing, presumably `Midnight [sic] in the Desert`, Art Bell on a weeknight, as the Canadians and the Vaticans refuse to protect CFRX. Meanwhile, 6075, which VR used to use, remains vacant. VR might as well turn it off as soon as the mass is over instead of filling with pointless IS, but HFCC shows the Latin Mass transmission at 0630 may last until 0715, with *two* transmitters --- is it both at once, or either-or?? 250 kW at 4 degrees, and 100 kW at 326 degrees toward Canada, beyond western Europe (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** YEMEN [non]. 11860, Dec 10 at 1422, VG signal in Arabic discussion about Yemen, studio YL (in Aden??) interviewing OM on phone. Also at first I can hear R. Ashna, Kuwait to Afghanistan underneath, which clashes at 1430-1630, uncovered at 1432 during a brief Yemen transmission break. IBB has the flexibility to move, so they should get with it, as this R. Sana`a has claimed 11860 for 24 hours a day, per Ivo Ivanov. He still lists it as a 50 kW ND transmission from Jeddah, SAUDI ARABIA. It`s so strong here during this hour, that I could now believe it`s a 500 kW Riyadh unit; maybe just an ideal pipeline hour for us, longpath? 1434 brief Qur`an segment; then mostly music, martial-sounding, with some Arabic exhortations; after 1503 back to mostly Arabic talk, weakening somewhat by 1528. More about it from our Cairo correspondent, Tarek Zeidan, Dec 10:

``Hello, It is Sanaa. The latest changes in this transmission are officially mentioned in the news bar in Yemen TV network (not the official one) stating that Radio Sanaa is transmitting 24/7 now on 11860 kHz.

Now there are two Yemeni TV networks, one supporting al-Huethi group located in Sanaa and the other one is supporting the elected President who is located in Aden the capital of Southern Yemen.

The official Radio Sanaa, transmitting now only online, replied to an E-mail from a listener that they are not the network using 11860 and this station is not the official voice of Yemen. The online network is completely different than the one on 11860, of course.

In Egypt I can hear them after 0430 UT but can't confirm if it's really 24/7; I can confirm that the gap between 1000 and 1800 is now filled with programmes attacking Iran, as it is the main supporter of al-Huethis. A DXer in Japan advised that he heard voice of the Gulf Cooperation Council transmitting on the same frequency, which is a fill-in for a 24-hour transmission. All the best, Tarek Zeidan, Cairo, Egypt, Sent from my iPad`` to the DXLD yg. Wolfgang BÃschel measures it on 11859.9985 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
