| Due to some scheduling conflicts that have arisen
in the past week I am going to have to change the schedule for the WFIL DX Test
on January 8, 2005.  The test will now be conducted between 0200 and 0330
EST, rather than the originally scheduled 0000-0130.   The WNTP test scheduled for this coming Saturday
morning, 0000-0130 remains unchanged.   Sorry for any inconvenience.   René F. Tetro, Chief Engineer WNTP - 990 kHz / WFIL - 560 kHz 117

  PM Subject: DX Tests
Rene,   Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Les
Rayburn, N1LF. I recently took over as the CPC Chairperson for the International
Radio Club. I'll be coordinating DX tests (taking over for Lynn).    We're thrilled to hear of your plans for
conducting two DX tests in December and January. Lynn was kind enough to forward your
e-mail to me.    I need to confirm that the tests are still going
to proceed as planned. We'd like to publish them both on-line and in our
printed bulletins (which need a little lead time)   If you'd like, we can handle verification of
reception reports for you, so that you won't have to be bothered with that duty. All
we'd need is a log of the program material to check against. Of course, some
stations enjoying verifying reception reports, which is also fine.    Please contact me and let me know your plans.
We're happy to assist in any way possible.    73,     Les Rayburn, directorHigh Noon Film

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Greetings,I would like to plan for DX tests for December.  To my knowledge,
we have never done one before -- at least in our current
  permutations.
 Firstly, I would
like to schedule a DX test for WNTP (ex-WZZD, ex-WIBG) 990 khz for the first
Friday night in December, 12/03/04.  I would like to conduct this test in
  two phases:  1)  00:01AM - 00:30AM using our daytime system (50KW,
  DA); and 2) 00:31am TO 01:00 our emergency Non-DA antenna at 5KW.
Additionally, I plan to shut down the transmitter from 01:00 to 01:30 to allow
DXers in our region of the country to DX other stations on
  990.
 Secondly, I would like to
schedule a DX test for WFIL, 560 KHZ for the first Friday night in January,
01/07/05.  This test would be conducted similarly to the WNTP test:
  1) 00:01AM - 00:30AM using out daytime system (5KW, DA); and 2) 00:31- 01:00AM
using our emergency non-directional antenna at 2.5KW.  Once again, I will
shut down WFIL from 01:00 AM - 01:30 AM to allow DXers in our region of the
country to DX other stations on 560.
I will update you in the next couple of weeks with a format for the
test.  It will most likely consist of a combination of unusual music and
  morse code id's
