| I could not hear anything on 1458.5 kc +/-
last night here in Tampa Bay, even with the outside preamplified 5 foot coaxial
loop. At day there is no way to hear anything due to a vile splattering Mexican
programming station on 1460 kc. Like I said previously it sounds like some sort
of digital transmission to me, like intermittent PSK. Speaking of 1460 when it was WBAR from
Bartow it was one of my favorite stations before it went Mexican or whatever in
Spanish. The station played country from the 1940's through the 1990's and
had it's own local on air personalities. All ads were local with no satellite
feeds of any kind. Listening to the station was like a cross between the Grand
Ol' Opry and Hee Haw. Sometimes the D.J.'s would even play their own records.
