[IRCA] TP 9 Dec Victoria version
Substantially poorer conditions today. A touch more DU, but it was
mostly the collapse of Asian signals that defined it. And, who knows why?
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
not very likely
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
no sign
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
774 JOUB man talking in Japanese 1516UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
594 man talking, Japanese intonation 1509UT
612 4QR pop music 1456UT, but by 1500UT, fanfare barely made it.
702 woman talking on phone to man, DU English intonation , 1529UT
747 man and woman talking, Japanese intonation 1530UT
774 mix of Aussie and NHK pips at 1500UT; by 1505UT, it sounded like
DU English, talk though JOUB faded back later
792 woman talking DU English intonation 1520UT
828 JOBB NHK pips 1500UT, man and woman talking after the hour
1116 man talking DU English intonation, 1516UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
1242 1422 seemed to be Asian;
891 1017 1098 seemed to be DU
best wishes,
Nick
