[IRCA] TP 5 Dec Victoria version.

The SDR did all the lifting today, as I needed to leave the house early. It really wasn't a difficult lift at all apparently. I checked earlier than the presunrise period, starting 1440UT, with not much evidence of anything earlier either. Everything noted here was just brief peaks.

Yet, interestingly, this evening, there are a few weak TA carriers from the usual suspects, 855, 909 1089 1215 1386.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

pretty well not

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling with splash or noise):

594  JOAK  1442UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

774 JOUB 1442UT

972 HLCA 1501UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 JOIK woman singing //594 1536UT

693 JOAB //774 1452UT

747 JOIB woman talking, Japanese intonation 1536UT; clinched with traces of music box 1541UT

945 CNR1 CNR pips, intonation of Beijing time check, and news sounder all pointed to this 1530UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

603 639 657 828 891 981 1575 seemed to be Asian;
nothing much seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
