     Yes, the EX5 is a real curiosity..  an analog  medium-wave specialty 
portable with a synchronous detector circuit, made in  Japan continuously since 
1985, and apparently a well-kept secret!   Hopefully it will prove to be of 
interest to DXers who always wanted an  ICF-S5W!     Best wishes,   Gary
