Weakish but most definate carrier noted on 747.0 this morning ~ 1134 GMT on
my 250 ft test NW BOG almost certainly from Sapporo so there may be hope for
Japan here. I had previously neglected putting an antenna that way since the
back end aims at a very noisy powerline spot, but my noise level wasn't
terrible at all and a quick check in the evening had rather rare things like
Duluth in well on 610 and KOWZ's (MN) 5 watts in the mix on 1170 for
example. I only had 250 ft of wire available, but just found a large roll so
I have plenty of wire to go the full 330 ft or so to my property's edge. I
will then parallel a shorter BOG for phasing as there is much back end QRM
to knock down as well as some line noise.
The desired effect I want to achieve is to crush WSB 750 (SE) while actually
having the sig from the NW on the same part of the band at least somewhat in
phase. I'll soon head out and set this up.
I tried for 1566 Korea but there was no trace (have had carrier a couple
times in the past on Kiwa Loop) and there was no trace of any other TP. I
forgot to check LW where I honestly think Russia 279 has decent chances.
