Per the latest Broadcasting Information column in the IRCA , a lot of
stations this time around have gone silent. I wonder how many more will
go off because of the economy?

Hopefully, a bunch. I would like to see the band return to the noise level of 1958. (But I know that is long shot.) It could happen *IF* the coming depression is bad enough.
Then I could hear DX from Latin America.
