[IRCA] TP 20 Dec Victoria version
Let's see, the lowest K index from 0600UT was, um, 5, with 6 being
more common. No need to check the files then.....except, Martin
Hall in Scotland was reporting Barrow on 680 at near noon his local
time (1200UT). He's fairly far north, and using Beverage antennas,
but still...
No, no Farda here, but quite readable 828 and 774 NHK2 was pretty unexpected
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
what is this K-index of which you speak?
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
774 JOUB was there with pips and weak talk at 1000UT, but actually
peaked with man in Japanese 1340UT //828
828 JOBB man in Japanese 1339UT peak, //774
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
the above passing through
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
612 4QR likely, wasn't 100% sure of the ABC fanfare at 1400UT, but by
1401UT, definitely a man talking in likely DU English
738 vocal pop music 1358UT, Tahiti?
1566 likely HLAZ 3 and 1 pips, man talking 1000UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
594 1017 1053
best wishes,
Nick
