[IRCA] TP 2 Sep Victoria version

The ionospheric fog was by far the most dominant signal. Odd that the little that was heard (and I'd say I heard less than Colin when he was listening) was more from Asia.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

any audio would have been a blessing, but in fact there were a couple of brief bursts...

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

594 JOAK man in Japanese, sports broadcast? then man in more measured Japanese 1157UT; only overseas audio on the band at this time, and the best all morning. Faded down to 1200UT, but pips heard faintly

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

702 2BL heard more weakly at 1219UT, but peaked just after the 6 pips at 1300UT, with fanfare and "ABC news" by man

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

774 JOUB very faint NHK pips 1300UT, a bit of talk by woman after hour, but unreadable.

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

 738 828 891 1098 1503 1566 1611

best wishes,

Nick
