Re: [Swlfest] 'Fest directory

Rich if my fuzzy memory serves me correctly, Dr. DX tried to do
something similar but people raised privacy concerns (since some folks
at that time read the Fest list and got the updates at their place of
work.)

I would not object to be listed, but I gather some folks might be (??)

We have the directory for all who registered in advance. John still has
to load the names from those who registered just before the 'Fest or on
site.
I was thinking of setting up an "announcements only " list (not for
two-way discussion like this list) and would tell folks to get back to
us if they don't want their names to be availalbe to others.
Your idea for adding a check box next year sounds good -- we are
planning other ways to streamline registration but probably won't do
much until later on in the summer.
We heard very little "Mr. & Mrs. Hospitality..." -- perhaps Dr. DX's
memory
is getting rusty in his advanced years...
Thanks, Alan, for your help as well!

This is primarily a test of the change-over in servers, but....
Is there any interest in having an E-mail directory of 'Fest attendees?
I'm thinking it would be nice to be able to be able to contact forum
presenters, people met in the hospitality room, etc. for further
questions, etc. I would suggest limiting such a directory to E-mail
addresses only, for privacy reasons, and certainly it would have to be
voluntary. Perhaps there could be a check-box on the registration form
to participate. Just a thought and don't want to add too much work for
Mr. and Mrs. Hospitality (notice how that term has faded into the past?)
Anyway, just a thought and thanks to all for another great 'Fest!

Alan Johnson
