Includes, at 0330, MUSICAL CHAIRS - "Lea Maalfrid" is one of New Zealand's leading songwriters, but for nearly 30 years her career has been out of the country, and behind the scenes. Her songs have been covered by top artists including Bonnie Raitt, and Sheena Easton who had a hit with Maalfrid's You Could Have Been with Me, which played more than a million times on US radio. She was also a member of Ragnarok, one of New Zealand's leading acid-rock bands of the era, and her song Lavender Mountain won the Apra Silver Scroll for the best song of 1977. After living in London for years, and performing rarely, Maalfrid recently recorded a new album Goddess of Love.

Today: Hot Flash - until recently hormone replacement therapy (HRT) was a common treatment for women who had gone through the menopause. They were told it reduced the risk of heart disease, kept memory fresh, energy levels up, and removed unpleasant menopausal symptoms, like hot flushes. It was a godsend for many women in Canada. One day, Lena is caught in a drive-by shooting and in the time it takes for the bullet to slice through her left ear she realises comedy is not for her. Instead she goes to Alaska where she discovers loss can sometimes lead to a gain. (Pt 8 of 12.)
