Early in June every year, owlets are born in Suigo-Takigawa Park in 
Takigawa City, which lies in the central part of Japan's northernmost 
main island of Hokkaido. These four new fledglings are still unable to 
fly well, but their large, coal-black eyes show that are already keen 
observers.
