** ASCENSION. 6135, Apr 7 at 0558, presumed Hausa as BBC scheduled
0529-0600, 125 kW at 65 degrees. Similar signal on 6195, which is ENC
at 250 kW, 65 degrees to CIRAF 46SE in Kau, per HFCC. What that really
is, per EiBi: R. Ndarason International targeting Chad in Kanuri. That
would be 47NW, while 46SE = Nigeria (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 11780, UT Tue April 8 at 0149, S9+10 into local Brasila
SDR, another RNB/A international service segment, first in English
billed as about a climate conference coming in November in Belém,
Pará, part 1 of an interview with a woman who says she is black, and a
cinema actress. Voice-over translation but the underguese is JBA. 0154
ID in English, Portuguese, same in Spanish; over at 0158 for full ID
in PP. Is this a different episode than the first one a week ago? I
did not check for it UT Mon Apr 7 after info that this would be on M-F
only = UT Tue-Sat, minus any stupid ballgame pre-emptions (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 28470 USB, April 7 at 2224, PU3KTM calling CQDX, among many
other deep S Americans on 10m. QRZ.com: ``PU3KTM Brazil flag Brazil,
Luis Pazinato, Rua Baltazar de Bem 338, Caçapava do Sul, RS 96570000, Brazil`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 770, April 7 at 0607, YL in Spanish, instead of KKOB or
WABC. No UStations on 770 are SS, so most likely 25/1 kW XEACH
Monterrey NL, among 3 other XEs in IRCA log: only one 24h, not silent
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 15500, April 7 at 1904, still NO signal from Noblejas REE to
N America; but 17715 to SAm is S7/S9; 15520 ME JBA; 15390 Af JBA
carrier. At 2214 check for token English on Mon, 15520 is now S9/+20,
much better than 17715 S8/S9, and 15390 S6/S9.
Could SNR have moved 15500 to another fq for NAm? A number of
alternates are in HFCC for A25, we need to check at least cursorily:
9690 & 17855, which of course have been used in previous seasons; and
15110 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9875.005+, Sun Apr 6 at 2046, VOT English eastward rates
S9+25/30 backward into UTwente, with `Pulse of Turkey`s Foreign
Policy` until 2052 music; 2056 `Letterbox`, she says it`s a bit short,
email has been slow. I can never catch full names of writers, but at
least countries: 1) W Bengal, India. 2) W Sussex, England. 3) Chris,
Canada. 4) Lithuania. 5) Pakistan. 2107 fill with closing folk song,
tune-out. So repeats if on air should start at 2226, Monday 0356.
Modulation fading may be caused by AMSynch tuning at UTw as it seems
OK in regular AM mode.
11785.007+, Sun Apr 6 at *2201, cuts on late with olds in progress,
S9+50 into UTwente. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. Not
monitored again until 2253 s/off as if 1230 on 17620: something`s
always awry at Ankara; 2254 IS, 2256 restart IS until 2258*.
Traditionally includes extraneous German IDs after 2256 whether or not
extraneous German broadcast follow, but my attention lapsed (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785, April 7 at 2213 check, VOT English not off the air,
S9/+20 direct but noisy. Also not on the air after 2256 in German
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U K. 5870-5875-5880, April 7 at 0557, DRM noise at S9+10. HFCC
shows 0459-0600 100 kW, 78 degrees from Woofferton with BBC in English
to Europe (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 404 MCW kHz, April 7 at 0632 UT, JBA ND beacon, HJ or HV?
No, must be HU, HUtchinson KS, 25 watts, rarely audible despite
proximity; while 407, HRU, HeRington KS, 25 watts is much stronger
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 28264 CW, April 7 at 2222, EEEEEEEEEE DE WB2VVV/B. WGB list:

+ grid + EEE - Pwr 1 Watt to a Horizontal Polarization Omni Ant.``
QRZ.com with lots of antenna photos: ``WB2VVV USA flag USA, JOHN C
"Chris" FAGAS, 57 KENNEDY ROAD, FOSTER, RI 02825, USA --- If my 2m CW
Beacon on 144.293 MHz from FN43eu brought you here, it has been
established as an Aurora Indication Beacon operating at 40 Watts to an
11 dBi Directional Antenna aimed Northwest at the Magnetic North Pole.
When there is Aurora occurring at a low enough latitude on the radio
horizon, it should be heard as hissy/raspy CW from the approximate
direction of the Magnetic North Pole. I also have a 222.057 MHz Beacon
operating from FN43eu with 10 Watts to a Horizontal Polarization Omni
Antenna, a 50.075 MHz Beacon operating from FN41cr with 2.5 Watts to a
Vertical Ground Plane Antenna, and a 28.2635 MHz Beacon operating from
FN41cr with 1 Watt to a Horizontal Polarization Omni Antenna. Beacon
reports are both welcomed and encouraged!`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 28240 CW, April 7 at 2220, CQ CQ DE N6KGR/B, with long

Hello, out there. Been a Ham since the mid 70s. Was QRT for 25 years
but doing a claw back after retirement and trying to get going again.
Over the years I was KX6NX (Kwajalein, Marshall Islands) but now only
use the N6KGR call sign. I was active on satellite and HF related
modes. Now I'm working weak signal beacons. Trying to get a 10 meter
beacon going (like we need another one) and will move to a six meter
beacon thereafter. Interests are mainly VHF and UHF propagation. Love
QEX related projects. 73s and see you on the bands. Paul Ackerman -

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2289 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
April 6 at 2000 on WRN European stream.
Also confirmed Sunday April 6 at 2157 the 2130 on SW Radio, Germany,
3975.003-, S7/S9 into UTwente.
Also confirmed Sunday April 6 at 2330 on WRMI 7780, S6/S8 into Georgia
SDR, but NOT on WRMI 7570 which continues moanin` `n` groanin` from
the TOMBS vesper service. --- despite WOR still on the System D sked
for 7570, and 7780 unaccounted for in any individual System sked at
this hour. But the transmitter sked atop is quite the contrary: TOMBS
on 7570, RAE Portuguese on 7780. Somethings odd at Okeechobee.
Also confirmed Monday April 7 at 1930 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975.003-, S9+10 into UTwente. Next:
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW;

** U S A. 9265, UT Mon April 7 at 0552, WINB is off as scheduled,
unlike UT Sat Apr 5 when it was on past 0630. I think it was also off
April 6 but not specifically un/logged (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 560, April 7 at 0600, ``Springfield, all-new KWTO`` and Fox
``news`` which might have been CCI. So what`s new about it???
Presumably meaningless blather. Please show exactly what was old and
done away with? Originally meant, a back-formation? ``Keep Watching
The Ozarx`` but now per radio-locator it`s ``Keeping an Eye on the
Ozarks``, even tho the call has not been newly changed to KAEOTO
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 750, April 7 at 0603 UT, WSB seems missing, only a weak
signal compared to 760, 780, etc. But, no, WSB ID at 0605. Is QRP?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1530, this info from NRC DX News Apr 15, published Apr 7,
bears on my latest logs of KZNX:
``1530 KZNX TX Creedmoor – Granted STA, U7 10000/36 (ch 1000), night
operation from day/CH site with CH pattern; night site is not
operational.
1530 WCKY OH Cincinnati – Granted STA extension, U1 50000/12500.
- - - BORDER INN CORRECTION - - -
1530 KZNX TX Creedmore – 10/26 0558 [EDT?] – Clobbering KFBK
with regional Mexican music and “la raza” slogans, mentioning KTXX-FM
104.9 and translator on 95.1, and secondary slogan “la que manda en
Austin.” Earlier this evening, they gave a bizarre mis-ID as “XEZR, La
Sonora de Margarita” before giving their legal ID, in which the
announcer seemed to stumble while reading the AM calls. Listed 220
Watts nights, but they are clearly running their 10 kW day power all
night again. 1117 miles. (TRH-UT){Tim Hall} (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
