thataway. Checking since 24 hours earlier, JRX in Brasil heard VOT

change frequency after the 0200-0300 Uighur service on 9465 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.006+, May 24 at 2212, VOT English not off the air,

Park, IL about 27 miles north of downtown Chicago. The beacon was
built from a Radio Shack HTX-100 running 5 watts to a Cushcraft AR-10
half wave vertical. CW message keying is performed by an Ultimate
PicoKeyer. The 10M band is open a lot more than you may think, even
during periods of low sunspot activity, so be sure to check the beacon
section of the band between 28.200 and 28.300 regularly, you may be
pleasantly surprised with what you hear. Over the years we have
received reception reports from over 30 countries and every continent
except Antarctica`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

WOR podcasts are available several ways, including the last 13 at:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9930, May 24 at 2213, WTWW wih TOMBS but modulation dropouts
a few times every minute averaging maybe 10 seconds each but
irregular. Keeps doing it past 2300, making Brother Hysterical even
more unlistenable. After 0000 check May 25 seems to have recovered.
Recheck just in time at 0104* to hear it go off, and 5920 cut on less
than a minute later. The other WTWW, 5085 was already on (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9395, May 25 at 0203, this WRMI is surprisingly OFF, but
9455 is on with TOMBS. At 0315 check, 9395 back on (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 6160-, May 25 at 0203, this WBCQ is off. For quite a while,
its schedule has been very curtailed. Now shown as 01-02 UT Tue-Sat
Hal Turner; plus 02-03 Thu Hal; Devil`s Advocate UT Sat 02-03; AAAWWW
UT Sat 00-01, and that`s all, but I`ve yet to hear it with the latter
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Sporadic E has been possiblizing lots of paths east of here,
nexus over Indiana, May 24 from 2309 UT. See unID 87.7! Yet nothing
else in numerous bandscans until at 0125 UT May 25, 93.3 Jack FM in
OKC has some unusual CCI to its C&W: mention of ``hospital of
Philadelphia`` - not enough to be certain, but a good Es distance and
direxion for: WMMR, Philadelphia PA, 16.5 kW, 264.0 m ``everything
that rocks`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1420, May 25 at 0132 UT, Meximx dominates. Probably
either XEF Juárez or KBHS Hot Springs AR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1480, May 25 at 0131 UT, Spanish preacher dominating. Of
several listed, most likely KLVL Pasadena TX, 5000/500 watts, Radio
Vida (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1549.82, May 25 at 0130 UT even on caradio, and this
early, the het against 1550s is audible, Mexico, Peru, or what? Can`t
measure it but sounds about the same pitch I recall on the bigrigs
later at night. And adjacent, lower and louder het below 1540 from
KGBC TX as usual but not always (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. ``Re: Unid 6938. Ron, I know what you mean, and see that
one very frequently. It's military, as far as I know, but the lone
carrier on 6938 is different. That one might be associated with
intermittent broad band pulses as well that can be seen +/- at least
50 kHz. 73, Walt`` Salmaniw, BC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9125.20 USB, May 24 at 0625, JBA 2-way M&W with pauses,
tonal language maybe Chinese (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. FM sporadic E paths are being reported further east, so
another session on the caradio in case they reach OK, May 24 so at
2309 UT to the caradio for tunearounds. Spanish/Mexican music on 87.7
is the only thing unusual, no signs of Es on higher frequencies in
repeated bandscans. 87.7 sounds slightly off-tuned so maybe really
87.74, 87.75 or 87.76 MHz, a `Franken FM`, really channel 6 analog TV
audio.

WTFDA FMDB lists 14 -LD stations on ``87.7`` including three in
Spanish that are not religious: KXDP-LD Denver CO ``La Invasora``,
WTBS-LD Atlanta GA, ``87.7 The Vibe`` and WDCN-LD Fairvax VA, ``Que
Onnda`` [sic]. Very little fading up or down, never in solid, so
unseems sporadic E. Maybe a local pirate, but never heard anything
like it before. $ tereo pilot icon occasionally flashes but usually
not. BTW, the 87.9 dead air in $ tereo carrier surely nearby, is off
now, but was on earlier in afternoon.

All the music sounds like same style, vocals with accordion. There are
interruptions for ads? mostly YL voices in English, and they are often
incomplete, cut off. Long pauses after tunes. Very amateurish
operation. What passes for an ID, heard numerous times, sometimes
thrice or more in a row, sometimes alone, sometimes mixing with mx, YL
sounds like

``de vos es [de?] chilao``

I have no idea if I`m spelling correctly. Could be chilau, referring
to a food; or chilao could refer to soil or a campground. At 2315 an
ad for Pepper? bras, cutoff; and for Lullabee skin care. Seven-Eleven
plug in Spanish, something for $ 5. Plug for ``Rodríguez report``,
parody? Towels from JCPenney. 2336, $ 3 for a guava drink; ``showing
you the way to be a lover again``; 2345 Jim Beam pineapple flavor.
2350 aceite ad. 2357 almost fadeout? But 2401 back with music,
mentions Zacatecas before cutoff. I`ve spent almost an hour with this,
and no closer to any real identification. Does anyone recognize any of
this?

Back online at 0011 UT May 25, the Es DXmap now shows a 99 MHz nexus
over Indiana, numerous paths including as far as Stillwater OK, almost
here, and still at 0108, so I go to car for another try at 0123:
nothing but the ``ID`` several times with long pauses, and weaker than
originally, off at 0129? no it`s back at 0137 (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK,
WOR)
