** ANTARCTICA [non]. Re: ``"I recorded the whole 30-minute version
using the U. Twente SDR receiver with good quality but it might take
me awhile to do a formal archiving. I’ll see if I can put it somewhere
temporarily tomorrow and then share the link."

Here you go:

A slightly different version for The Documentary Podcast. So, we have
three versions: the SW version transmitted to Antarctica, the version
that went out earlier on the BBC WS streams, and the podcast
version.

By the way, this year's program has special significance for us at the
University of New Brunswick, as one of my colleagues participated in
the Canadian science expedition to Antarctica on HMCS Mary Brooke
earlier this year and did some unprecedented mapping of part of the
ocean floor down there. He also visited Rothera.

** BRAZIL. 11748.9, June 23 at 0205, JBA carrier in typical
offfrequenciness of R. Voz Missionária (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9580, June 23 at 0200, one pip and CRI relay presumed
Cantonese, very suptorted so my 100% uncomprehension was not affected.
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. The ChiCom obviously don`t care
how negatively this reflect upon them (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KOREA NORTH. 13649.93, June 23 at 1453, JBA carrier. Suspected UAE
site in characteristic offfrequenciness, with WRN Russian relays, but
that does not start until 1700. Closest to this time is VOK/KCBS until
1450 per Aoki & EiBi, certainly another one  with such capability
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 760.13, June 23 at 0227, that het upon WJR again, must be
XEDGO Durango2 as in my June 16 log, q.v. Altho it was known for some
time, I had not noticed it before then (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6849.95 AM, June 23 at 0210, pirate music S9+10 in
HSNL, OSOB. These a few minutes later say 6850 with Liquid Radio:

Thanks for financial support this week from Gerald T. Pollard, Raleigh

One may also contribute via PayPal in US funds but not necessarily, to

** U S A. 5830/6050, June 23 at 0213-0218, rough extent of splatter
out of WTWW 5920, during TOMBS, pinned on that rather than 5850 or
5890, by matching modulation peaks on a second receiver; takes some
doing vs high storm noise level out of west Texas, and/or Nebraska,
Minnesota. Worst of course closest to 5920. First peak noticed
5955-5965 area, then 5975-5990, trailing off above 6000, and then
traced downward to 5855 and the other side of WRMI 5850 to 5830 or so.
QRMed/blocked by non-spur signals such as 5850, 5890, 5935, without
which and HSNL it would probably be audible continually.

The other WTWW not on 5085 tonight, and have not noticed it on for
several nights now. No word yet from George about what may be the
latest problem with that (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15555 USB, June 23 at 1450, JBA talk in deceased
gospelhuxter style, and not on LSB, so WJHR Milton FL. I was about to
wonder if it were silent as not heard for a week or two in random
daytime bandscans, at 1449 about to conclude that, until straining to
hear it now. Can be much stronger if it get a sporadic E boost, which
one would expect more often this time of year. Minimum legal power is
50 kW, but it`s always been much less from a glorified ham rig. WRTH
2025 page 596 says: ``1 x 0.25 kW (run at 1 kW PEP)`` How does owner
George Scott Mock get away with that? ``Plans`` a 50 kW unit? Not in
the WOR Hitlist but WRTH says website is:
https://mytgibc.com/Missions.php i.e. ``True Gospel Independent
Baptist Church``:

``WJHR Radio is a short wave radio station that broadcasts the gospel
of Jesus Christ around the world. The station has received letters
from Russia, Italy, Germany and South America to just name a few. WJHR
broadcasts nothing but preaching 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The
station was built and is maintained by Brother Scott Mock who is a
faithful member of True Gospel Baptist for many years. If you would
like to support or desire more information you can contact Brother
Mock through the church or at the radio stations email address: WJHR@
usa.com`` - I don`t think it`s ever been 24/7! Aoki shows
1400-2200, EiBi 1358-2200. That website does not explain that WJHR is
a memorial to John Hill, who I think is the only preacher ever heard
on WJHR.

On Dec 31, *2008*, Benn Kobb reported to us:

``The applicant doing business as Hill Radio International is an
individual, Scott Mock, WB4BFO, who plans to broadcast from his
Milton, FL home.

He proposes to use a custom-built transmitter and a four-element
cubical quad antenna at 90 feet AGL. He told me that this
station, which he hopes to name WJHR, will broadcast exclusively
in single sideband.

Thus, to the FCC application question of "rated unmodulated
carrier power output", he answered "Zero". The stated emission
type is B8E.

He conceded that SSB broadcasting is unusual, but feels that
there are enough SSB-capable receivers now and that his content
will be compelling.

He said the station would be a commercial operation, but would be
funded mostly by "contributions from churches that support our
beliefs." The programming will come from a 40-year collection of
recordings made at Smyrna Baptist Church in Pensacola FL.

You will recall that this church received its own construction
permit for an HF station one year ago. There are several months
left before that CP expires, but it appears that it will not be
built and that WJHR is a new version of that project.

In the license application, where the applicant must outline his
"program plans and policies", Mr. Mock simply referred the FCC to
that earlier Smyrna file "to avoid duplication." Benn``

** U S A. 1460, June 23 at 0223, South Asian singing atop the pile
right now; equal on the N/S and E/W antenna implying it is not due any
of the cardinal direxions. NRC AM Log shows the only one with such
``Asian`` format is KBRZ Missouri City/Houston TX, U1 5000/125 from
the SSE; as this is not Vietnamese = KCLE Burleson/Cleburne TX and
besides was silent as of 4/24. Of the 62 UStations on this busy
`regional` channel, only one other is ``ethnic``, WBMS Brockton MA, 30
watts - I think not (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Date and time omitted from this: 0153 UT June 22: 6861
approx., repetitive musicalish notes, no carrier, can`t get a fix to
resolve it in USB or LSB; pirate? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 11580/11585, June 23 at 0201 as I bandscan, encounter a
very strong tone/carrier sweeping in this approx. range, then gone.
What? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
