** CUBA. 13780, July 19 at 2234, RHC NF is missing again? No, but JBA
Spanish into Maryland, other remotes where it should do better;
underpowered? By 0001 July 20 direct check, no signal (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** CURACAO. 21300.2 USB, July 19 at 2255, CQ CQ from PJ2Y, at first
sounded like PJ2YPJ till a different voice took over, or 21300.3?
quick contacts, contest? QRZ.com: ``PJ2Y Curacao flag Curacao, James R
Storms, 4968 Tilbury Rd, Huber Heights, OH 45424, Curacao - Here it is
2025 and we are on the air in Curacao from July 18 through July 21.
Try to contact all kids on each band. Again we thank the Caribbean
Contest Consortium for hosting us. Uli is here and doing a great job
helping us with the station. A special thanks to Dayton Amateur Radio
Association for being the major sponsor. As always DX engineering is a
high level supporter along with Icom`` It seems this is an annual
outing of ``The Dave Kalter Youth DX Adventure`` The OSOB, at least no
other SSBs encountered (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MALI. 5995, July 19 at 1851, R. Mali in token English for a few
minutes on Saturdays only. Checking several remotes in Canary,
Morocco, Spain, Sicily, Greece, Kuwait, Qatar, RSA, most getting
nothing or too little except for TWR Johannesburg, but it`s insuff,
only S7 vs high noise level. The OM speaker is more intelligible than
the YL with a heavy French? accent. I recall that Fuerteventura,
Canary Islands used to work best for this, but not now shown on the
KiwiSDR roster. However, I do find and reach EA8BFK via another
roster, almost too late: S9+20/30 at 1901 still English, mentioning
the Malian Association of Teachers of English, and something about
Nelson Mandela. 1903 wrapping up with frequency 92.0, and ``may God
bless Mali`` at 1904 bit of music and switch to another language
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6965 USB, July 20 at 0007, pirate music, S9+10/20 vs
NL of S9+10; retuned at 0009 just as a Wolverine Radio ID is uttered.

Theme is Woman, see playlist; SSTV illustrated with a reclining nude
sculpture (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6955 AM, July 20 at 0008, pirate music JBA S9+10/20.
These say it`s Thunder Chicken Radio:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 92.1, July 20 at 0044 UT on caradio, bandscanning in case
a bit of Es DX; at least two signals fading in and out here. Weak but
clear for an ID, ``Heart & Soul 92.1 and 1140`` which is merely K221FQ
OKC of KRMP 1140, which ought to be better than JBA in noise level; 99
watts.
Occasionally fading up to dominance on 92.1 is KFXI Marlow 100 kW,
C&W; 0051 ID ``KFXI Foxy 92``, and now it is definitely with $ tereo
pilot, but was surely in mono whenever I heard it before and shown as
such in WTFDA FM DB. I suppose we cannot be sure it will always be one
or the other? If a station ever deliberately turn to mono e.g. during
talk programming, it might forget to change back to $ (Glenn Hauser,
Enid, WOR)
** PERU. 4955, July 19 at 2247, good Spanish signal into Lima remote,
S9+10/22, no doubt R. Cultural Amauta, or is it just R. Amauta as in
WRTH? I should have stayed for an ID. Hearing it directly is tough,
especially since it is not 24h (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.003+, Sat July 19 at 2211, VOT English not off the
air, S9+25/45 into UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 28200+ CW, July 19 at 2347, beacon with 20 E`s and very fast
msg, starting with NST, which was probably really TEST, and from
N4WLO/B, Theodore AL, heard before, listed 28200.5.
28209.5 CW, July 19 at 2348, K7EMX/B is audible as well as WWV on
25000; Kearns UT, no doubt reminding us to check out his QRZ.com site
for loads of jabs at our dear leader: https://www.qrz.com/db/K7EMX
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9930, July 19 at 2342, WTWW with TOMBS is S9+40 direct, and
no spurs or splatter unlike yesterday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 25000, July 20 at 0026 since WWV is well heard now via
sporadic E, I measure the offset on my R75: as if on 25000.113. And on
20000.078. And on 10000.044. Each may be a few Hz off; obviously the
higher the frequency, the greater the error, but should be
proportional. There is probably an adjustment somewhere inside the
radio to ``zero`` the readout; but meanwhile this can be a rough
correxion factor for other frequencies (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 28340 USB, July 20 at 0012-0025, two or three hams in
colloquial Spanish, never heard an ID as they were more interested in
masticando trapos. No other SSBs audible on 10m, but a few beacons. No
hits on dxheat/dxcluster (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
