Glenn Hauser logs October +3, 2025

Friday, October 03 2025

** CANADA. 6754 USB, Oct 3 at 0618, CHR Trenton Military is JBA,
``Ottawa, Ottawa``, degraded propagation. Also 15034 USB Oct 3 at
1412, ``Greenwood, Greenwood`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [non]. 13605, 11930, 11860, Oct 3 at 1413, R. Martí/La Voz del
Trumpismo, is off again during USG shutdown. But at 1852 they are all
on, VG into Ft Lauderdale SDR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 610, Oct 3 at 0629, Mexmx over usual dominant KFNZ Kansas
City, 0649 ``La Ke Buena`` slogan. This applies to no UStations and
one Mexican per IRCA Log: ``XECCBS Zacatecas Fresnillo 10000 -1000 La
Ke Buena GRU TVR New station was testing 5/25, on the air by 7/25.
//XETGO 1100AM, XHCCFE 91.9FM Fresnillo, and several other FMs.
Replaces XEEL, which finished moving to FM years ago`` ``POWERS: "-1"
= station power is unknown. Other negative numbers indicate presumed,
suspected, or estimated powers. Many of these listings are a result of
the fact that stations seldom publicize their night powers, and night
powers are often missing from station license documents and
construction permits ("CPs")`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** PUERTO RICO. 391 MCW kHz, Oct 3 at 0627 UT, DDP at Dorado ND beacon
is JBA vs local noise level of S7 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5000, Oct 3 at 0621, WWV with Doppler flutter, extremely
unusual on this low and close frequency, propagation disturbance. That
means carrier frequency is fluxuating sideways, rather than
up-and-down strength flutter, which may also occur (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

Many thanks to Jim Snow, St Simons Is., Georgia, for a generous check
to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, and says: ``Dear Mr
Hauser, I am sending this donation to help continue your great work in
promoting our hobby! I have been a listener to your program since you
first began many years ago. I am 83 years old and have been an SWL and
DXer since 1955. Thanks for all you do in these depressing times! Best
wishes``

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A.  5907.2, Oct 3 at 0619, WTWW parasitic spur from S9+20/30
fundamental 5920, match on 5932.8 still undetectable tnx to 5935 WWCR
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 9960, RV no longer heard here. Ron Howard got reply from
station`s Pryce Aptenbel Oct 2: "Hi Ron - Sorry for the brief off-air
interruption. There was no power cut — we just had to change the
frequency. This has now been completed, and you can receive our signal
on 5040 kHz and 7260 kHz until December. Please note that we will
update the frequencies again from December through April, and so on,
in line with our seasonal schedule." But via NZ remote, Ron was still
hearing it at 0859 Oct 2 on 3945 - clip on WOR 2315.

So I`m checking 7260 reactivated for RV, Oct 3 at 0410 -- too early to
reach KFS in CA, let alone OK direct, but northernmost KiwiSDR in NZ
is getting English, S5/S7 with some hum, woman discussing dugongs,
biodiversity in seagrass. 0417 improves to S7/S9 and 0421 ID as an ABC
Podcast of Oct 3, `Pacific Beat`.

By 0606, KFS is getting it via NW antenna, music at S5/S7. And at 0616
I have a JBA carrier direct on 7260. We don`t yet have a complete new
frequency schedule. Ron Howard replies:

``Thanks, Glenn, for confirming Radio Vanuatu now on 7260 (ex: 9960),
assume till 0658* UT. Via Kiwi SDR remotes in NZ, I confirmed now on
5040 (ex: 3945), at 0947 UT and assumed
started at *0658`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 810.49, Oct 3 at 0632, JBA carrier hetting WHB 810.0.
Tim Hall replies in ABDX: ``Re: the ubiquitous carrier on 810.5 kHz
(not actually covered in today's update from Glenn): It's now showing
up on my 1200 UT recordings from home (between San Diego and Tijuana).
I do not discern any audio. My loop was aimed NW/SE, roughly at
Central México. Of the 4 Mexican stations listed, XERB would be in
daylight at this hour, XEHT is believed silent (their AM license
expired a few years ago), and XEEMM has been noted on the proper
frequency per SDR monitoring, so that would leave XERB (apparently
running very low power). Domestically, KYTY has been observed on
frequency in recent SDR monitoring, so possibly KXOI? 73 Tim``

KXOI: Crane TX U4 1000/500, address in Odessa, just north of Crane,
SS:REL `La Nueva Radio Alabanza` per NRC AM Log.

XERB in his IRCA Mexican Log: ``810 XERB QRoo Cozumel 2500 250 Sol
Estéreo [89.9], Tu Nuevo Amanecer, Grupo Sipse, Siempre Cerca de Ti
24h POP:E/S/TRO/TLK/VAR - // XHRB 89.9FM. Still active on AM 7/24
(logged by DXer), and still included in 7/25 IFT list. Facebook page
now mentions AM again. Early morning show "Tropimañana" includes
"rooster" sound effects between songs produced by a novelty store
rubber chicken. Station takes a lot of requests, and runs many live
and pre-recorded announcements which often recite the station phone
number in an unusual manner: 9-87-87-2-0-9-48. info@sol899.com``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Re: ”880, Sept 29 at 0548, Mexmx atop KRVN, whatever,
plug app for sounds like “La Pino Max“, or Mas, “en todas partes“.
Nothing similar among US stations in NRC AM Log. Usual heard is WIJR
Highland IL, La Tremenda. Mexico? IRCA Log shows only one, in Chihua2,
and it`s silent (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)”

``This isn't much help; but “La Pino Max” sure sounds like it might be
“Aquí Nomás,” which is the secondary slogan for stations using the “La
Mejor” branding package (it's not necessarily a format) in the US and
México, e.g., KSUN-1400, XEHS-540. Unfortunately I don't know of any
stations on 880 using this branding. 73 Tim Hall`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
