** BRAZIL. 11780, Dec 30 at 0737, RNA already on, songs at S9/+20
direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 5025, Dec 29 at 2322, S9+10/20 of dead air in Spanish from R.
Rebelde; something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** CUBA. 11760, Dec 29 at 2314, RHC S9+10/20 windhowling transmitter
is here instead of 15140 earlier in day; clear dead air on 11880 at
S9/+10. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 11760, Dec 30 at 0736, RHC Spanish on air way late, S7/9+25
direct, someone speaking in an echoey venue. Also with windhowl
self-QRM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 15140, Dec 30 at 2046, RHC S9+20 of windhowl instead of
English; 11880 S9+5/20 of clear dead air in English. SAWA (Glenn

Easily overcomes JBA 5th harmonic of my local stupid sportstalker,
1390 KCRC, Enid

** ROMANIA. 6030, Dec 29 circa 2315, RRI in English, poor signal
direct but at least before Martí takes over. Poland via WRMI, Spain on
some Wednesdays, and Turkey all do better with English at 2300; but
6030 is intended only for Europe, not us beyond; alternate from
Galbeni is 7220, not noticed there but anyhow would be intruder
subject to QRhaM. English hour at 23 is also registered for
Tsiganeshti on 7325 or 9620 toward CIRAF 45 = Japan: why not? No
Japanese (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 9690, Dec 29 at 2300, REE with music, S9+30/40 to us; also
12030 S9+10/20 oppositely while 17715 & 17755 are JBA carriers.
Program sked for Dec 31-Jan 1 already shows nothing but
`Entertainment` from 19 UT Dec 31 to 13 UT Jan 1. But there is
supposed to be English at 1104-1200 UT Wed webcast only (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 5960, Dec 29 at 2300, VOT not off the air, accurate
timesignal and s/on as if it were 1330 on 13635 - something`s always
awry at Ankara. For the announcers, anything after the original
broadcast is inconsequential. S9+10/20 but insufficient vs noise level
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330, Dec 29 at 2301, WLCR/WBCQ opening Portuguese with huge
signal, S9+40/50 direct. Must be pointing thisaway 253 degrees instead
of 170 to Brasil when it`s normally quite weak here off the side
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1280, Dec 30 at 0704 UT, DX test from WNAM Neenah/Menasha WI
is detectable direct vs QRM from lots of other stations, sweeps upward
and in between Morse code including ID as WNAM.
To know what to listen for, I had tuned to the first hourly
transmission at 0604 via N8BTR remote at Tall Pines Cabin in NE
Wisconsin. From tune-in at 0555, heavy QRM in French, from CFMB
Montreal, 50/50 kW but supposed to have a notch to the west. Would not
be the first Canadian failing to implement required direxionality.
WNAM is generally underneath it.
The DX material is to air at :03-:05 past each hour from 0600 to 1105
UT Dec 30 and 31. Started with phone-off-the-hook tones, sweeps
upward, Morse code, more sweeps, gmail address, singing ID. 0606
``continue to tune in as we honor our final days on the air``. Of
course, DXers are on their honor to pick it up direct and/or specify
if via a remote, and not fake a report from what others have heard.
Joe Hanlon found this 2+ minute story on WNAM from WBAY-TV Green Bay,
which BTW was one of the first stations I TVDXed from NM in 1954 when
on channel A2:
