Glenn Hauser logs January 4-5, 2026 including MexiFMDX

Tuesday, January 06 2026

** CZECHIA. 5850 // weaker 7780, Jan 5 at 0617, ``The Moldau`` is
playing - must be R. Prague. Yes, as on WRN sked in English relayed by
WRMI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 660, Jan 5 at 0607, Mexican NA choral, then ID with full
address in Monterrey. So it`s XEFZ. Despite frequent IDs as ``ABC
Deportes, sabemos cómo se juega`` plays a lot of songs in English

** MEXICO. 1090, Jan 5 at 0553, Spanish talk, like a financial
infomercial? Mentions cuentas, and website .mx. Sounds a lot like the
unID on 1100. At 0556 interjects and easily missed, ``escuchas Milenio
Radio``. So it`s XEAU Monterrey NL, 5000/500 watts (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** MEXICO. Big sporadic E FM DX opening January 5, the first for me
this winter. All on stock Nissan Sentra caradio with fender vertical,
in real time, no RDS, no internet access or references at hand during.
Everything is in Spanish with $ tereo pilot, u.o.s. Times strictly UT.
Researched later mainly with WTFDA FM Database info indicated after
DB: km/statute miles added from distancefromto.net, city to city, not
site to site.

89.5 at 1853, Mexmx; 1902 JBA talk, 1903 ``La Lupe``: DB: XHFTI-FM
Fortín de las Flores, Veracruz, 60 kW, 453m, 1947 km/1210 stmi

92.1 at 1854, Mexmx, ``Lo Mejor FM``, 1856 TC for 4 till 1. YL DJ.
``La Mejor`` - think I heard both Lo and La, in passing. At 1901,
``180 mil watts, Córdoba, Veracruz, La Mejor``. At 1916, ``La
Mejor``. At 1939: ``La Mejor, 92.1 aquí no más`` DB: XHPG-FM Córdoba
Ver, 49.95 kW, 213m, 1949/1211

93.5 at 1855, Mexmx; 1905 Veracruz mentioned, CCI; at 1929 Rudolf
Truro songtune, CCI; At 1936 ``Arroba-FM`` mix CCI. DB: XHPP-FM
Pánuco, only one in Vcz, @FM - Arroba FM, 20.39 kW, 80.39m, 1594/991

92.3 at 1904, JBA SS talk

94.5 at 1906, Mexmx; at 1909, ``la canción de --- 94.5``, CCI

96.7 at 1906, talk about government benefit info; at 1927, talk about
obras públicas

94.1 at 1911, Farmacias Guadalajara ad: national chain I think, does
not necessarily mean a Guadalajara station

93.7 at 1912, Spanish music, but then English; brief capture over
KSPI?

92.9 at 1912, Spanish

92.1 at 1913, kids? about los Reyes Magos. Heard this mentioned
several times, i.e. imminent Jan 6, what we call Epiphany. Disney as
below?

94.5 at 1915, strumming music; at 1916 ad ments La Huasteca, Tampico;
1917 Farmacias Guadalajara. DB: XHTPO-FM Tampico, Tams, La Caliente,
50 kW, 111m, 1573/977

94.1 at 1917, about crédito, El Cerrito; 1920 two stations mix, ment
El Patito Suave. DB: no hits, too many stations

92.9 at 1921, Spanish JBA; at 1937, Senado PSA, ``La Qué Buena 92.9``,
ads, fade. At 1940, ads, ``la cadena de radio más grande de México,
92.9 La Kebuena``. DB: no hits unless spelt ``Kebuena``: XEQ-FM CDMX
79.07 kW, 214m, 1890/1174

94.1 at 1925, KFC ad in SS, CCI praise music EE = OK

94.9 at 1926, Spanish talk

93.1 at 1931, JBA ments Alegría, CCI local deadair. There is a grupo
by that name, but no hits; maybe was just ``alegría``

95.3 at 1933, M&W talk, 1:33 TC, overcomes KOKC translator

95.1 at 1935, undermodulated Xmasmx, must be Enid; later back to
deadair

94.1 at 1935, ``FM 94.1``, music; not an ID per se

92.1 at 1942, ads, plug Radiodisney.com.mx, ads, Disney; 1943 bit of
Indigenous language, in Suprema Corte PSA, ads Walmart, Taylor Swift;
1945 juguetes, ``92.1 Radio Disney, sólo baladas``, ``en Radio Disney,
tu música te llega``. DB: XHFO-FM CDMX, CHR format, 100 kW, 134m.
IIRC, the R. Disney brand disappeared a few years ago in USA. DB gets
only one hit on slogan, Pasadena CA translator of KRDC 1110, outdated?
1890/1174

94.5 at 1948, classical music! quite steady reception, harp concerto,
1953 slow announcer, Opus 94 ID, lengthy phone? number starting
56-28-17-, ``Opus 94, padecía[?] sonora``. DB: XHIMER-FM CDMX 100 kW,
478.3m, 1890/1174

93.7 at 1956, YL musing with musical background; 1958 ``Escucha 93-7``
captured from KSPI, yeah, but what`s the call? No station listed with
fq in slogan, but every station could say that, duh

92.9 at 1959, ads in pesos, Farmacias Guadalajara, Soriana; 2000
Electra, impossibly sped-up disclaimer, ``Ésta es ---, desde
Radiópolis, aquí suena, cadena de radio más grande de México. Back to
XEQ-FM CDMX as above. 1890/1174

95.3 at 2002, ``Amor 95,3. música romántica, XHSH-FM, 100 mil
watts, Amor FM, Grupo ACIR. DB: CDMX 90 kW, minus! 20m. In this entire
almost 2-hour opening, the only call-letter ID heard! I take a break
at 2003-2012. 1890/1174

96.3 at 2013, Spanish JBA with 96.1 OKC ACI

97.3 at 2013, Spanish music

100.3 at 2014, YLs, ``en el capital``, fade; 2016 discussing Reyes
Magos, address, RTQ for gifts; 2018 kids` wishes. At 2028, ``RTQ 100.3
Radio, rock? alternativo``. DB gets no hits searching on RTQ, but
Wikipedia leads to XHQUE-FM which is in the DB as R. Querétaro,
Santiago de Querétaro, Qro, 15 kW, 27.7m. This is the highest
frequency in the opening, tho had been concentrating on the overfilled
lower half of band. RTQ stands for Radio y Televisión Querétaro.
1774/1102

96.7 at 2021, YL TC as 2:21, about calendar?, 2022 fade, deadair
pauses, ``Radio Sensación 96.7 FM`` -- that is, DB: XHPZ-FM Cd.
Guzmán, Jalisco, 30.82 kW, 239.9m, 1933/1201

95.5 at 2026, Spanish talk briefly vs local 95.7 ACI

99.1 at 2027, Spanish briefly, fade

88.1 at 2030, discuss US, Ukraine, Maduro

92.1 at 2033, most have faded out except JBA Spanish here

At 2036 I quit. Per 6m DXMAP, opening continues some hours, but
nexus/patch originally circa San Antonio/S Texas, just right for me,
has drifted northward closer to OK which means any DX is skpping over
me (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, Jan 5 at 0619, Station YHWH is on and JBA
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9610, Jan 4 at 2138, tuning in early not to miss the start
of `Letterbox` on VOT, but zero signal into UTwente, OFF the air!
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

San Francisco Radio CEP on 5574.

5598 USB, Jan 5 at 0615, ATC asking for call sign, working Air France
481, refers to 6628, 3016 for contacting Santa Maria, Azores. Gander,
Shannon and NY are also on 5598. And some of the same on the others
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2328 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
January 4 at 2015 the 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.999-, S8/S9
into UTwente, unusually with some undermusic CCI. mwlist quick & easy
shows very few possibilities in Eu/Af/ME: 30 watts in Leeds UK; 7.5 kW
in Romania, only until 1800 on Sundays, and 50 kW in Iran until 2020
which must be it.

Not confirmed Sunday January 4 at 2235 the 2230 on SW Radio Gold,
Germany, JBA into UTwente, Bedford and Carlow remotes, but probably,
sounds like it could be me.

Also confirmed Sunday January 4 at 2337 the 2330 on WRMI 9455,
S9+25/40 direct.

Also confirmed UT Monday January 5 at 0000 on WRMI 9395, S9+15/25
direct.

Also confirmed UT Monday January 5 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9+5/20 into
S Texas SDR. And still not on 9455, but not Viva Miami either as on
sked, Judge Joe?? introduced himself and started reading something
about photography.

Also confirmed UT Monday January 5 from 0401.5 on Area 51 webcast.
WBCQ 5130- cut off JL at 0400 for s/off announcement; he didn`t gotta
go until 0401.

Confirmed Monday January 5 at 2050 the 2030 on SW Radio Gold, Germany,

One may also contribute, not necessarily in US funds via PayPal to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1360, Jan 5 at 0545 UT, presumed KHNC Johnstown CO again
with strange program, exaggerated professorial accent about Zodiac,
still at 0601 but no ID, 0602 cut to a song (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1650 kHz, Jan 5 at 0543 UT, Spanish talk, praise music atop.
Only possibility is KBJD Denver 10/1 kW. KFSW Fort Smith AR, really in
OK, is not really a factor here, and the only other SS is KSVE El Paso
with sports. Haven`t heard it lately either, nor the tone it used to
run all-night (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1100 kHz, Jan 5 at 0548 UT, Spanish music mixing with
WTAM et al., pileup, YL mentions cintura = waist. Unlikely one of two
remote obscure Mexicans. NRC AM Log shows only USSS: KAFY Bakersfield
CA U2 4200/800 religious, also unlikely (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR))

UNIDENTIFIED. Re my 1190 in Spanish, Jan 3 at 0710, ``Radio Éxitos``
suspected not to be WLIB NYC, which is ``La Exitosa``, Bruce Conti of
NRC IDXD replies: ``WLIB is operating unidirectional (non-directional)
at 25% power per an FCC STA which was recently extended, due to
directional phasing problems. Some midwest DXers have been reporting
interference with WOWO. [Conti]`` - Also, from MARE Tipsheet:

``1190, WLIB, New York, NY. 10 kW daytime, 30 kW nighttime. In place
of the usual 50 kW/9.8 kW WOWO, Fort Wayne, with La Exitosa music
format. English ID at 0259. “WEPN FM HD1, and WLIB AM, New York,” then
repeated in Spanish. “La Exitosa” station announcement. After that,
Elvis Presley singing “Silver Bells” (!) New logging. December 26. --
Bob Tarte, Lowell MI, Perseus receiver +W6LVP loop`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
