** ARGENTINA [non]. 9455, Mon Feb 23 at 2300, WRMI in Chinese,
eventually mentioning RAE and pronouncing mail/website in English
letters. VG signal for some Chinese porteño in deep North America. Or
maybe they hope this 315 degree/NW beam from Okee will carry on to
China. But my globe shows Peking is about 342 from Okee (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 6180 // 11780, Feb 24 at 0750, RNA token English with
another ep about Parque Rodeador, creation of RNA by the military
dictatorship 52 years ago (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHINA [and non]. 6100, Feb 23 at 2304, Chinese music fill instead
of Portuguese, from Beijing 572 site, much weaker and fadier than on
// 13650 via CUBA. The inscrutable Orientals (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA [and non]. 11760, Feb 24 at 0754, RHC still on at S9+20 in
order to provide windhowl; by 1547, 11760 good S9 music not howling,
whilst 15140, the usual howler at this hour, is off; SAWA. R. Martí
compensates for this by deadairing on 15380 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 11880, Feb 24 at 1951, RHC Kriyol good S9+20 into Georgia
SDR, barely audible under windhowl on S9+10/15 15140. Modulation cut
incomplete at 1954 on 11880, dead air carrier stays on, no English
after 2000. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, Feb 23 at 2303, VOT not off the air, but VP
S9+10 direct. By 2355 check via UTwente, Chinese music already, 0000
timesignal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 305 MCW kHz, Feb 24 at 0720 UT, OI, 25-watt ND beacon
`Tommi`, South Sioux City NE. Surprised to hear this with no trace of
RO, 400 watts `Topan` Roswell NM, normally only it; tho recently had
both mixing. Is RO off now? Note: RNA list location, while
dxinfocentre puts it up in Sioux City IA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 374 MCW kHz, Feb 24 at 0723 UT, HY, 25-watt ND beacon at
`Nette` Hays KS; I was tuned to 372 USB. On Feb 10 I could copy only
the Y in call, but had to be this (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 382 MCW kHz, Feb 24 at 0724 UT, SP, 25-watt ND beacon at
`Huskk` Springfield IL; I was tuned to 380 USB (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** U S A. ``Regarding the open carrier on 6938 -- a possible clue as
to what it might be. I was monitoring 43 metres last night and caught
an unid pirate on 6935 USB at 0251 UT. Fairly weak signal with music
and voice only occasionally breaking through the noise.
At 0303 I noticed a carrier on 6938 with a short bit of CW. At first I
thought this was related to the jamming cat and mouse game against
Band-Aid Radio that shifted between 6940 and 6960 between 0230 and
0330, but remembered that I usually do see this carrier there most
nights
I'm rubbish at trying to decode CW, and I think I was getting like
02XPYTR out of it -- but other ears might be better --- go to about
11:30 into the clip:

``Can play at 0.5 speed - it`s WO2XPY - looks like a USA experimental
callsign. Glenn``
``Thank you Glenn. According to this post:
https://groups.io/g/HDXCC/topic/112904029
`RCA Telecom has added a third transmission site to WO2XPY in West
Chicago. It comprises a 10 kW amplifier, three Yagi antennas including
this one, plus this log-periodic array.
“Grant of this application will serve the public interest because it
will allow RCA to determine maximum efficient use of HF spectrum as it
works toward developing a system for commercial use,” the company told
the FCC.
(FCC rules do not permit commercial shortwave data transmission to
foreign points. The Commission is still chewing on a Shortwave
Modernization Coalition petition to allocate some HF frequencies to
this purpose. See ERN #9.)
WO2XPY is authorized to use 14 bands between 6 and 29 MHz. Running
more than 246 kW ERP in 14.35‒14.99 MHz – just above the 20-meter
Amateur Radio band – it is “not capable of transmitting station
identification,” RCA told the FCC. The Commission waived the station
ID rule, as it typically does on request.` Tony``
``That carrier is often there and very strong in Masset. So strong
that I thought it was something local. Virtually always an OC only.
Walt`` Salmaniw, BC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2335 monitoring: confirmed Monday

into UTwente.
Also confirmed UT Tuesday February 24 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S7/9+5
into Georgia SDR. Again some speaker was cut off abruptly in time for
me.
Also confirmed Tuesday February 24 at 1415 the 1400 on WRMI 9955,
S9/+5 direct.
Also confirmed Tuesday February 24 at 1509 the 1500 on WRMI 9955,

1730 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160 {may be canceled}
0030 UT Friday WRMI 5950 to NNW {new to be confirmed; see below}.
Thanks this week to Moises J Corilloclla, Rego Park NY, originally
from Peru, for a check on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684,
Enid OK 73702.

NOTE! I see that the WRMI System L skedgrid has just been updated as
of today! Feb 23, 2026, with a new airing of WOR: UT Friday 0030 on
5950. That will become Thursday 2330 once DST be imposed; just before
the time I am usually completing recording of a new WOR. If I can get
it done a bit earlier, might upload in time to get this on air ASAP
rather than first at 1300 Friday (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 17790, Feb 23 at 2223, this WRMI back on the air, and after
23 relay Taiwan in French. 9395 still off by 0017 Feb 24 uninto
Georgia SDR.
17790, Feb 24 at 1544, JBA carrier direct, Romania instead of WRMI?
But 1702 into Maryland SDR, 17790 is on with gospel singing and
instrumentals, rather pleasant fill until gospel huxter near
Walterboro starts at 1715, S7; while `Brasila` SDR where it`s aimed
gets only a trace of a carrier (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9350, Feb 23 at 2224, WWCR-2 also back on air here on
frequency following 12160, preceding 5935 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 910 kHz, Feb 24 at 0713 UT, ad for Brookings Automall, so
it`s KJJQ, Volga SD, U4 500/500 watts, ``The Ranch``, address in
Brookings. Night pattern with notch to SW protecting Wichita, and
almost Enid, but major lobe to SSW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 1070 kHz, Feb 24 at 0746 UT, `Scott Jennings show`. See
previous log connecting it to KNTH Houston, but not at this hour. In
the continued absence of KFTI Wichita, suspect it`s KHMO Hannibal MO,
IDed previously. But on its sked at 12-3 am CST is the Charlie Kirk
Show, and I understand that he is no longer available. KHMO is a Salem
affiliate, so perhaps Jennings has replaced Kirk but sked not yet
updated. There are a few other SRN affils on 1070 in NRC AM Log, all
less likely than KHMO. I`ve asked KHMO if it`s them (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
