** OKLAHOMA. 740 kHz, Feb 27 at 1253 UT during bandscan happen to hit
KRMG Tulsa with advisory that viewers of Fox 23 by antenna will need
to rescan by March 7. That`s KOKI; means that it`s changing RF
channels, from what to what? Rabbitears.info shows it`s on physical =
RF channel 22, and will continue but `soon` callsign KOKI-TV will be
carrying the ROAR network; no mention of Fox as network/affiliation!
Maybe it`s about a slight change in transmitter sites SE of Tulsa. Ah,
here`s the scoop:
https://www.fox23.com/news/fox23-tulsa-moving-to-ktul-8-2-in-february/article_3c59dfb2-6623-43e6-9bf0-94be9695dcd6.html
``FOX23 Tulsa Moving to KTUL 8.2 in February
FOX23.com News Staff Feb 6, 2026
FOX programming in Tulsa is getting a new channel location. Sinclair
has acquired the FOX affiliation previously carried on KOKI FOX23 as
part of a transaction with Rincon Broadcasting. Beginning February 9,
2026, all FOX programming, including FOX network shows and FOX23 News,
will move from KOKI 23.1 to KTUL 8.2.
Simulcast Period Planned -- To give viewers time to adjust, FOX
programming will air on both KOKI 23.1 and KTUL 8.2 for three weeks.
The simulcast will run through March 1. Starting March 2, KTUL 8.2
will become the permanent home of FOX23 in Tulsa.
What Viewers Need to Know
Viewers who watch FOX using an over-the-air antenna will need to
rescan their televisions to receive the new channel. Sinclair is
working with cable and streaming providers, including Cox, DISH,
DirecTV, Optimum, YouTube TV and Hulu to minimize any disruption.
These changes will not affect ABC programming.``
Here`s what really happening, already in rabbitears.info:
KTUL is identical on two different physical channels, 14 and 24, but
both displaying as 8, with 8-1 ABC, 8-2 FOX, 8-3 Antenna TV, 8-4
Rewind TV. 8-1 nickname NewsChannel 8 and 8-2 nickname Fox 23 Tulsa.
So the KOKI call letters are being deleted?, or not:
KOKI-TV is still in rabbitears on display 23, physical 22, but with 6
other non-Fox networks: ROAR, Me-TV, Dabl, Charge!, Comet TV, The
Nest.
And Doug Smith, Nashville also replies: ``The KTUL on physical 24 is a
Digital Replacement Translator in McAlester (there is no engineering
difference between a "Digital Replacement Translator" and a plain old
translator. The difference is purely legal.) If similar Sinclair
actions in other markets (like Nashville and Dayton) are any
indication, KOKI 23 is not going away. It will remain 23.x with ROAR
on 23.1`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
