** CUBA. David Crawford replies to my inquiry about the 1141 kHz
carrier:
``Hello Glenn, 1141 programming has consistently been Radio Cadena
Agramonte, Camagüey for a while now, but is still sometimes only an
open carrier.
The 1141 carrier was first noted here May 2024. Progreso programming
was first noted August 2024, and first noted with full modulation in
October 2024, but only carrying any audio very intermittently. CadAg
programming was first noted April 2025, and has generally been there
more than carrier-only since. Having said all that, it's probably time
to check the programming again.
With the apagones, usually there's nothing on 1141 at all lately, and
activity has been very intermittent, and usually there only after 03
Z.
The previous, primary CadAd freq of 910 was last heard here in
November 2022 with bad modulation. The station made a surprise
appearance through the 1180 pile in April 2025 but I haven't confirmed
it there since.
Recent checks on 1140 at night here usually find one Rebelde
dominating, and sometimes CMBF there. Sometimes there's nothing from
Cuba, and WRVA, WQBA, and WBXR own the channel. WQBA slowly varies
around 1140.023 and is easy to identify by the offset.
Another question related to 1140 is whether Radio Surco is still on
the air. I've had no confirmed reception of them on 1080 or 1140 in a

case of Cuba's windhowl with almost no audio making it through``

nights. Now it is on, S6/S7 with music, and nothing on any other known
RV frequencies, including 7890 where I suspected it harmonicizing from
3945. I`m still on same remote at 0532 when there are probate legal
notices in English, now S8/S9; and at 0725 in Bislama now S9+. At 0732
I tune direct and it`s S7/S9, and also a JBA carrier vs noise level on
7890. So what else could be on 7890? Massive UDXF frequency reference
shows only Antarctica:
