** OKLAHOMA [and non]. April 9 at 1450 & 1835 UT for example, the
traditional 27 MHz Citizens Band, at least and probably above and
below it, devoid of signals: i.e. very little CB activity around Enid.
When there are pileups of hets and shouting, that must be almost only
by skip, primarily sporadic E from hundreds of miles away (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. Replies to my recommending VOT move off 11785 to 11790 or
11795 or 11800, at 22-23 UT:
``Hey Glenn, I was just catching up on WOR reading and saw your
information about contacting VOT about the 11785 collision. I was the
other listener they referenced as I sent them an email Monday night. I
was surprised to have a reply in my inbox on Tuesday morning from the
same individual. I hope our contact will help them to move frequency.
Regards, Chris`` Campbell, Columbus OH
``Hi Glenn, The interference from Brazil was reported to VOT by me
back in May 2025, recommending that they move to 11790. A few other
listener reports also mentioned adjacent channel splatter. With 11785
remaining on the VOT schedule for A26, it would appear that this
information has not been passed to the team which plans the frequency
schedules.
Cemre is forwarding the information to the Emirler station, which is
probably pointless. I doubt whether they have anything to do with the
schedules. Years ago, I was in regular contact with Ms Sedef Somaltin
at the TRT Teknik Yardimcilik in Ankara. She unfortunately transferred
to another job in 2009. Any problems with interference from other
stations that I reported were quickly resolved by her department.
I really wonder what happens to all the reception reports they get at
TRT. Is someone employed to read through all the listener observations
and transfer the information to a database for evaluation? I doubt
it. QSL's are (sometimes in my case) mailed out as acknowledgement,
that's all.
As for Ricky Hein, he has had reception problems for a a few years
now.
He also recently reported to RRI in Romania that he has trouble
hearing them, usually giving SINPO's of all 1's. I think he must have
a deaf receiver or no suitable antenna. Alan Holder, G4ZBH, Isle of
Wight, U.K.`` (via Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2342)
