Glenn Hauser logs May 1-2, 2026

Saturday, May 02 2026

** CHILE. 21315 USB, May 1 at 2210, CE7FPL in Puerto Montt talking
about a red = net. QRZ.com: ``CE7FPL Chile flag Chile, OSCAR WERNER,
Ruta V-155 Km 4, Llanquihue, X, Chile`` -- that`s 24 km from Puerto
Montt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHILE. 28450 USB, May 1 at 2157, CE4JZO. QRZ.com: ``CE4JZO Chile
flag Chile, Federico Edo. "Kiko" Concha Traverso-, Avda. La Estancia
N° 413, Comuna Machali, Sexta Región, Rancagua- 2910000, Chile``
Also some unID SS on 28435, 28510 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KOREA NORTH. 15245.24, May 2 at 1350, NK music is JBA, on signature
skewed frequency of VOK: this hour in English for Europe. No
comparison to bigsig from CNR1 jammer on 15340 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 21565, May 2 at 1347 JBA carrier direct is the OSOB.
EiBi shows nothing but BBC in English to Indonesia at 12-14. Another
success for near-antipodal Talata (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6950 USB, May 1 at 2221 wild percussion partially
demodulated by fifth harmonic of KCRC (AM) 1390 Enid. At 2233* a local
power failure hits home, not KCRC. Surprise, no storming now. I don`t
have battery backup ready to go on the NRD-545, so hook up the DX-398
to longwire and keep listening to more pirate music; 2324 SSTV, outro
2325 as ``one of my old selfies``, more music. Many reports here as
Thunder Chicken Radio with visuals:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,162804.0.html
Ower power outage turned out to last a full hectominute until finally
back on at *2413 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 15520, May 1 at 2202, REE S9+20 with navigational warning in
English, merely a clip during Spanish ``Así suenan siete días en Radio
Exterior de España`` as if it`s Friday there must be no English. Also
S9+20/30 on 15500, and S9/+10 and noisy deadair on 17715, no signal on
15390. The other 15s are the SSOB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, May 1 at 2159, VOT not off the air, but
undermodulated, S9+10 direct, s/on as if it`s 1230 on 17720;
something`s awry at Ankara. And with heavy splash from 11780 Brasil,
while 11790, 11795 and 11800 continue to be invitingly open (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2345 monitoring: Also confirmed
Friday May 1 at 2200 on WRMI 9955, S9/+10 undermodulated as usual on
this outlet.

Missed checking 2230 May 1 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975 due to power
outage so no computer operating, no remote tuning.

Also confirmed UT Saturday May 2 at 0305-0334 on WTWW 5085, S9+10/20
into Maryland SDR. WTWW was on air more than an hour earlier with T2P
which seems to happen only on Friday evenings. A rough start: 0300
``The Ministry of...`` World of Radio, but cut to dead air. 0303
another ID. 0305 restart WOR and plays to conclusion.

Confirmed not the Saturday 1430 on SW Radio Gold, Germany, 6160, since
day-by-day skeds show pre-emption on May 2 and probably future first
Saturdays for Texas Radio SW; music heard at 1445 check into UTwente.

Many thanks for a very generous contribution via PayPal to woradio at
yahoo.com from Chris Campbell, Columbus OH, ``I always look forward to
Thursday evenings each week to catch the new WOR.``

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to
Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7490, May 2 at 0000, WBCQ `AAAWWW`, opening with talkovers:
``hi ho, hi ho`` and ``tickling the grids`` so it`s a rerun of March
14 & April 18, q.v., never mind (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 17525, May 1 at 2206, WMLK is JBA, only S9 with DEJOM or his
heir, instead of usual blast. God won`t get`em for working on The
Sabbath until 2401. OTOH, 17790 WRMI attains S9+20/30 with Taiwan in
Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 910 kHz, May 2 at 0652 UT, South Dakota weather and
Brookings ads, therefore the station with address in that town tho
licensed to Volga: KJJQ, U4 500/500 watts. Day pattern goes NNE/SSW,
slightly more to the SSW; night pattern with a notch to the SW, but
major lobe closer to south like us. Last heard Feb 24. The SW notch
would be to protect ND KPOF Denver, not Wichita. The towns are in E
central SD, not far from MN frontier. Part of a 5-station group with
another AM and three FMs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
