You definitely have the soul of a DXpeditioner, Paul. That's taking
advantage of the local environment for sure.

My speaker stands haven't arrived yet so I had to figure out a way
to hold up my loop antenna while keeping it steady and straight....
and here's my solution for the winter. (Link to picture at the end
of this email!)

I filled a trash can with water, put the 5 foot long 1 1/4" PVC pipe
in one corner of the trash can and had the trash can flush with the
side of my porch wall then I left the trash can out overnight.

I then brought the ice filled trash can to be bottom of my 3 steps,
put it in the red plastic sled and pull the sled 150 feet up the
KSKO driveway by strings attached to the end of the sled.

That's one majorly solid chunk of ice and since McGrath, Alaska
won't see above freezing temperatures for any length of time till
April or so, I'm good for awhile.

That sled holds my radio and recording gear... load up the sled and
take it down the KSKO driveway to my "listening post", which is the
two totes stacked on top of each other.
