** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-RCUSB, June 30 at 1445 tune-in via Brasília
remote, LRA36 is on again this Wednesday, only S2. There are very
frequent canned IDs and mostly music. 1447.5 LRA36 ID. 1508 NAA ID =
``Nacional Antártida Argentina``. 1511.5 LRA36. 1516.7 NLRP ID =
``Nacional, La Radio Pública``, now up to S2-S3. 1527 closing
announcement: ``todo por hoy; nos despedimos`` and Antártida song
until 1530.5.

BUT it does NOT go off, soon starts more music! 1540.8 LRA36 ID. 1544
NLRP ID and talk for a while, JBA. 1552 music. 1601.7 LRA36 ID, music.
1608 NLRP ID, music, 1617 talk. 1618 NAA and LRP IDs. 1619 15476
mentioned. 1624 ``NAA, En Todo el País, LRP`` ID, music. 1627 mentions
Base Esperanza. 1630 music. 1636 stops and off without closing (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13762 & 13638 approx., June 30 at 1435, weak F# FMish
spurblobs plus & minus 62 kHz out of 13700-AM; something`s always
wrong at RHC. And again with beepery adjacent on 13705, see USA!
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. In the British DX Club, Peter Jones reported June 30:
``Radio Cairo English back on?? I had an email from Radio Cairo today
(I was asking about the possibility of returning to Shortwave), and
apparently the live streaming is now working (not sure how long this
has been the case).
https://www.onlinehorizons.net/livestreaming3/Player/NS/EN_EUR.html
2115 UT with the link. I will listen in.``

So will I: First feature on webcast lasts only a few minutes; bit of
music and then another, with modulation widely variable. I heard a bit
of English and then music on that link at 2117; 2120 resume talk
presenting ``Features, a new feature each day`` about an Olympic
swimmer. Buzz on modulation. 2131 timesignal and `News in Brief`,
one-liner headlines, including heat wave in SW Canada, so appears to
be current. 2133 ``presents: This week in History``. What about SW?
9720 is the imaginary A-21 frequency for 2115-2245 English per WRTH
Update. Nothing there via UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13705, June 30 at 1435, beepery again adjacent to 13700 RHC.
At 1443, I ask for help on the WOR iog:

``Again today at 1435 I have some kind of beepery on 13705 just above
weaker RHC. Could anyone identify what kind of transmission this is,
decode or even identify it? Glenn``. Walt Salmaniw, BC, replies:

``Glenn, it's the VOA! Here's what I decoded in MFSK32 at 14:59 from
Victoria, best on 13705 LSB (using FLdigi):

`Gracias por recibir y decodificar este texto por radio de la Voz de
América. ϵbnd
Envíe su informe de recepción a mdail@usagm.gov
Please send your reception report to mdail@usagm.gov`

OK, now to figure out from where? 73, Walt``

``!Surely Grimesland/Greenville. Does Kim Elliott know anything about
this? Glenn``

Subject: Reception on 13705

``I read about an unknown transmission on 13705 using a digital mode.
This morning, just before 15:00 UTC, I quickly tuned to the channel
and was able to decode the following using FLDigi software. I'm
located in Victoria, BC, Canada and used a Perseus SDR radio, and a
Flag antenna. I'd appreciate information on where this transmission
originates, the power, antenna azimuth, and purpose of the
transmission. I recall the old VOA Radiogram show from years ago from
Kim Elliott. Many thanks! Walter Salmaniw MD`` Reply:

``Hi Walter, Thank you for inquiring about our transmission. This was
just a generic test transmission using the familiar Radiogram format.
The transmitter power was about 70 kW. If you would like a QSL card, I
would be glad to send one to you.

Best regards,

``OC after 15:00 and carrier cut about 1502:30. Pretty much confirms
Greenville, Glenn. Note that Kim Elliott is included in the
response! Cheers! Walt``

Still questionable is how this was mixed up with RHC audio yesterday,
and why VOA happened to pick such an adjacent frequency? (Glenn
Hauser, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2092 monitoring: confirmed
Wednesday June 30 at 2100 on WRMI 7780, S7-S8 into Maryland SDR; and

Hz carrier offset.

NOT confirmed Wed May 30 at 2200 on WRMI 9955! Another cancellation
without notice; still on skedgrid but instead some gospel huxter in
Spanish. Next, and last:

UNIDENTIFIED. 15329.23-USB approx., June 30 at 0123, weak 2-way
INTRUDERS in colloquial Spanish, very difficult to pinpoint with very
brief interchanges, the stronger one with ``engine noise``. Hey, who
would notice, right smack dab in the middle of an almost vacant
broadcast band? Cambio (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
