WRMI CELEBRATES THE RED DIRT OF NORTH TEXAS ON 5950 KHZ AT 0200 UTC ON JANUARY 9

Saturday, January 08 2022

Texas Radio
Shortwave presents an hour of Red Dirt music, celebrating music
from the red dirt country of North Texas.

This branch of
country music takes its name from the red dirt of central,
southern, and western Oklahoma, where it originated. class="Apple-converted-space">  The music has worked its
way south of the Red River and is an accepted part of the Texas
music scene.

There’s lots of
music out there by artists you’ve heard of, but you won’t hear any
of those today.  The 14
artists on the playlist aren’t well known, but their music’s every
bit as good as from the big stars. class="Apple-converted-space">  How many of you have
heard of Walt Wilkins & The Mysteriqueros, Kevin Fowler,
Eleven Hundred Springs, or Micky & The Motorcars?

We have a special
eQSL for accurate, detailed reception reports covering at least 20
minutes of the program.  You
must include song titles and the approximate text of announcements
and the times they aired, a signal quality report (SINPO or SIO),
info on your receiver and antenna, and comments on what you heard
so we can improve our programs.  class="Apple-converted-space">

If you don’t
include that last item — just don’t say something like “I liked
your program” ‘cause that doesn’t cut it — don’t bother to send us
a report because you won’t receive a verification!

The email is
texasradiosw@gmail.com.

P.S. class="Apple-converted-space">  Immediately prior to the
Red Dirt salute, WRMI airs TRSW Special: class="Apple-converted-space">  Songs About Texas #2 -The
Lost Program, which has its own eQSL.
