15770 had a nice signal (S-3) into SP1EXB (circa 340 KM NW of Warsaw) at
1920 with more international music (Chariots of Fire, Verdum En Dibe Kadar
(Turkish), Da Fing Der Sommer Noch Einmal An” (German) and a short interlude
“Vraho Vraho” (Greek) before the VOA Flashpoint Ukraine pgm at 1930. Signal
improved to S-4 by VOA program end at 2000. Also tried a Finnish SDR that
had a better signal (S-4+) but intermittent wipeout due to repeated
broadband noise from a presumed local source. Quality in Eastern Europe
seems dependent on antennas used. Some SDRs had no signal at all, and at
least 3 had no audio even though showing strong carriers on the waterfall.

Typical WRMI international filler music. First piece was "Amores Imotais" by
Brazilian singer Eduardo Costa. Reception of 15770 kHz quite good here in NB
but with a bit of RTTY QRM for a few minutes centred on 15768 kHz. Signal
not quite as good into the U. Twente SDR receiver but listenable and RTTY
was stronger there than in NB. Could be avoided by using USB.
