** CHINA. 13130, March 21 at 1359 Chinese S9 with flutter until
timesignal and off 1400*. Just in time heard JBA carrier of another
CNR1 jammer on 13020; but 13530 was already off (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CHINA [and non]. 12120, March 21 at 1416, Chinese from CNR1 jammer,
S9+10/20 and // weaker one on 9660. Blows away the RTTY always on
12120 which EiBi says is NAU US Navy Puerto Rico STANAG but this is
not STANAG noise. Axual target this hour is VOA Chinese via
Philippines, hardly audible; while 9660 vs R. Taiwan International
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 9900, March 21 at 2245, Cairo is already off, and not nearby
either; rather, echoing Chinese talk from double CNR1 jamming against
Taiwan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 12000, March 21 at 0557, RHC English with jazzy music S7/S8 =
2 x 6000 where it`s S9+20, and overmodulated/distorted on both. No
signs of 2 x other 49ms, 6060, 6100 or 6165, on 12120, 12200, 12330,
but always check for them. Aoki shows 6000 as Quivicán site, the
others Bauta. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. Correcting one time: English from 2115, not 2315:

9884.803v, March 20 at 2112, here we go again, R. Cairo on
yet another frequency, in B21 for French until 2115, S9+30 totally
distorted music into UTwente. Maybe about to move for totally
distorted English from 2115? Was 9909.8 yesterday, ex 9899.8 before
that. So it pays to tune around the area. However, at 2202 recheck now
it`s on 9899.802, S9+40. At 2353, more than an hour after English
would have finished, now it`s polluting 9909.951. Probably off circa
2400 like yesterday. Something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9899.8, March 21 at 2158, S9/+10 direct of distorted music,
2200 trace of timesignal, classic R. Cairo news theme, unreadable when
talking. Something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** SOLOMON ISLANDS. 5020, March 21 at 1517, ``island music`` S5-S7
into BC remote, got to be SIBC running all-night; still past 1600 with
no ID break; next check 1627 faded to JBA, carrier offset -2v Hz. WRTH
and Aoki show SIBC break at 1200-1900; EiBi 1203-1900 except irr.
music at 1203-1500 only. LSR at remote approx. 1445 UT. This is well
after Ron Howard`s usual monitoring span until 1300 or so; he commonly
hears it as much as 6 hours earlier over full darkness path (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 12030 > 11940 > 9690 > 11685, March 21 at 2314, REE token
English on M/W/F, in decreasing order of strength and readability, the
NAm channel of 9690 ranking a poor third behind ME and SAm beams as
received direct here via indoor longwire during storm. An Amy Egan
feature about literature? From next week 17855 ex-9690 with quite
different propagatory challenges, and at 2200 ex-2300 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 12035.034, March 21 at 1417, VOT VP S5/S7 and off-frequency
as usual, toward end of 1330 English to Europe, and NAm beyond. In A22
from March 27 shall QSY to 15450v and earlify an hour to start at
1230, unlikely propagating any better. Something`s always erroneous at
Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 11815.737, March 21 at 1442, carrier making big
het with 11815.0 Japanese, NHK. TRT Turkish has been colliding here
for years at 14-15 in B seasons, but much further off-frequency than
usual. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. Can`t make out any
modulation on it. In A-22 the 13-16 Turkish broadcast moves to 9840v.
Ivo Ivanov also noticed TRT today on ``11815.7`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 11540, March 21 at 1433, Turkish music jammer at
S9/+10 and can`t tell if Dengê Welat victim be under it, but nothing
on alternate 11530 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 13563.5 CW, March 21 at 1403, HIFER beacon YSO from, where
else, Yellow Springs, Ohio, JBA and had to strain at least a minute
for certain copy; vs CODAR and meanwhile no K6FRC on 13565 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [non]. 9550.045, March 21 at 0603, VOA news in English,
S5/S7. Of course it`s SAO TOME E PRINCIPE site which can`t make
accurate frequencies (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2130 monitoring: confirmed UT
Monday March 21 at 0258 the 0230 on WRN North America webcast: from
next week should be at 0130.

Also confirmed UT Monday March 21 from 0301:28 on Area 51 via WBCQ
6160 minus 56 Hz = 6159.944, into Missouri SDR, but heavy ACI from
6165 RHC so need LSB or SAL mode to minimize it. If RHC be back on
6165 to stay for the next octomonth, everything on 6160 is in for a
bad spell: at least toward the east, RHC also suffers from WBCQ ACI.
Operating two nearby stations 5 kHz apart is asking for trouble and
would be avoided by competent frequency management: but Cuba refuses
to participate in HFCC, and once on a frequency, WBCQ heavily resists
any moving. After A-22 settles in, there should be a better spot for
WBCQ on 49m at night, if not 24/7. Next:

0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to NNW
2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?]
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

UNIDENTIFIED. 21280 USB, March 31 at 1935-1947+, TA ham working
pileups of N American east-coasters. They NEVER utter the DX call,
only their own until they finally if ever break thru the pileup. His
signal relatively weak, and doesn`t give his call often either. Once I
thought I heard OH0##, which would be the off-Finnish radio country of
Åland Island, but soon checking DX clusters can`t find any reports of
that or anything similar on this frequency. What frustration. Excuse
me, but I would not consider a ham contact complete unless each
station utter at least once, both calls. Is that too much to ask?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
