May be another of their maintenance periods disrupting schedule. At 0624 I
had big dead carrier on 13840, nothing on 11725. At 0705, 11725 on with
programming, 13840 off. Glenn

11725 not on @ scheduled start time of 0559, powers on at 0700, off at
scheduled 0758, but then transmitter powers on @ 0803 with news for 30
seconds, then off again. Powers on for 10 seconds with audio @ 0818, then
off. No 9700 monitored @ 0820, 0830, 0840.
Something rickety in Rangitaiki...at least for today. ;-)

Perhaps RNZ was using the Thomson transmitter from 1990 instead of the usual
2006 Thomson unit? The older transmitter, which is kept as a backup, has
been reported to be quite temperamental in its advanced age.
