** CUBA. 15140, Sept 1 at 1419, RHC S9+10 and distorted song; // 15230
S9 and undermodulated. Something`s always wrong at RHC. The Other
Side:

``RAUL CASTRO IS PUSHING THE REGIME TOWARDS A VIOLENT DEMISE``
https://diariodecuba.com/cuba/1661975132_41947.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 6679 USB, Sept 1 at 0622, VOLMET in English S5. DU
accent matches EiBi as Auckland at H+20 & 50; shared 24h with Tokyo at
10 & 40, Hong Kong at 15 & 45 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 1 at 0624, VON is on in undermodulated Hausa,
S9/+20 direct.

7254.933, also on Sept 1 at 1736, S7/9+10 into Canary SDR, with plenty
storm crashes like locally as I close down for lunch, VON English.
Recheck at 1835 when I have to camp on Scottsburg, Indiana, still on
with squeal, S9/+20. Now lightning is N of Canary in Atlantic, central
to N Morocco, NW Algeria. 1937 another check, now below huge CRI
Turkish 7255.0 making LAH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2154)

** SWAZILAND. 9585, Sept 1 at 1454, TWR music box IS, ID
``broadcasting from --- --- ---``, 1455 into language. Could not make
out word, but 3 syllables: Af-ri-ca? Man-zi-ni? Swa-zi-land?
``E-Swatini`` would have 4 syllables. At first I thought it would be
Guam, but SWZ is sked in Malgache 1455-1525 M-F, French Sat/Sun; ergo
long-path. CRI Japanese also sked from 1458, oh2; I tuned out before
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

R. Angela with Zacharias Liangas and playing some more Greek music, in
an open hour; unfortunately can`t understand much of what he says due
to imperfect reception into Maryland SDR and accent. 0215-0300 rest of
hour jazz, intro & outro by synthYL voice. ZL says he will also be

** U S A. 5970, Sept 1 at 0205, RCM/WEWN is off now too even during
primetime, but still daytimes on 12050. Stephen Luce, Houston TX, also
replies Sept 1: ``Glenn, for WEWN I have not heard anything recently
on 5970 at a number of checks in local evening and early morning. Just
now around 1800 UT September 1 I am hearing a poor to fair signal on
12050 with many deep fades. On further reduced power?`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2154)

** U S A. Re KDJW with EWTN: ``As for the 1010 in Amarillo: It was a
Country music station for many years, later flipping to Talk. After
that it had a Regional Mexican Spanish language format, followed by
ESPN Sports Radio. More recently it went to Spanish language religion
followed by English language Catholic programming. Stephen Luce,
Houston, Texas`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2154)

** VANUATU. 11835, Sept 1 at 0625, still no signal from RV X 3. While
boring now, these non-log confirmations will be useful if it ever come
back (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2154)

SEMICOLON SWEEPSTAKES; I am proud to announce that the latest Roundup
8/25-8/31 broke the 100 barrier with 101 semicolons; last few
reversely accomplished 66, 82, 106. Of course the size of each issue
has a considerable influence on these totals; but I doubt many could
match my *rate* of semicoloning; some never even type them! ... three
dots are no substitute (gh;)
