Radio Beacon ZD9SSS was heard at 0830 UTC on June 7, 2023 on a frequency of 14.097065 mhz in WSPR mode. Signal strength -17 DB. ZD9SSS is on Gough Island in the South Atlantic and run by the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) which maintains a Polar Observatory and science facility on the British island. It is also part of the International WSPR Beacon project which now has some 70 stations around the world. All project stations run 200 mw. Bill Smith, Douglas, MA Yaesu FT-847; 6 ele log periodic.
