** SAUDI ARABIA. 11935, March 18 at 1504, found it! S3/S6, the
horrible loud roarer, sounding just the same as on ex-11915 which
vanished a few days ago, ex-11820, ex-11860 where it was originally
and probably still is a failed attempt to carry Republic of Yemen
Radio. Still 11935 at 1658, S9+15 into UTwente -- but 1700 as heavy
QRM to VATICAN Radio in French as scheduled. If not allah, the RCC
god`ll get`em for that. 1836 check, again roar only, S9+10/15 UTwente.
2316 recheck *still* roaring, S8/S9 into UTwente. And *still2* at 0028
March 19: so on 24 hours??

Lots more victims as long as this stay on 11935. Aoki shows: VR at
1630-1730, 1940-2000; CNR5 China at 23-09. RFA Tibetan 12-13 & CNR
jamming; 11-12 Sunday R Joystick via Bulgaria. EiBi lax the last but
adds 1330-1630 R. Farda via Lampertheim = I heard nothing of that at
first tune-in. Next? Something`s always wrong at wRiyadh (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Mon Mar 18 at 2313, token English from SNR feature
today is interview about March 17 being Comic Book Day, in Spain, as
declared on July 11, 2022. Treated as if a serious subject! VG into
Maryland SDR as always.

AER has published an A24 sked showing 17885 repeatedly instead of
17855 as usual for NAm A-seasons, suspected typo/error. HFCC A24 still
shows 17855. AER shows the other three: 15360 Af, 15520 ME, 17715 SAm.
HFCC has no 15360 and includes several other alternatives (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960.002, Sunday March 17 at 2337, late tune-in
to VOT, S9+25/40 into UTwente, not off the air, with `Letterbox` in
progress, acknowledging report from Malaysia of a Farsi broadcast,
``out of time``, ``May God bless all of us``, yet time for some music
2342-2347 before playing `Lbox` outro. 2353 s/off for the 1330
broadcast only, 2353.6 IS playing only a sesquitime and off,
uncovering XJRTV Chinese, which had been audible as an undercurrent.
Since I missed the first part of `Lbox` I`m listening for the final
repeat after 0400 UT Monday March 18 on 6125 also to N America:

6125.016, further offset than usual, as UTwente and Maryland SDR agree
on that exactly; S9/+10 into Maryland, much stronger S9+20/35 into
UTwente. 0400 UT Monday March 18, news misread by the badax until
0414, then an analysis or commentary. 0419 `Lbox` starts. Host says he
is feeling very sad since one of his best friends, she died of cancer
yesterday. Also remarx he has no idea which other announcers are doing
which programs as he only does Lbox and sometimes the news. First
letter from England, very tiny handwriting he has trouble reading, so
goes slowly, reading all the program details in the report, irrelevant
now, on and on until 0426; next from Alan Holder, Isle of Wight, who
says winter there has been awful, always raining. Wants VOT to resume
citing headlines at end of transmissions; 1330 broadcast on 13635
suffers from Chinese jammer on 13640 vs Sound of Hope. 0432 next from
Mr Ng, Guangzhou, China, report on a Russian broadcast which
admittedly he does not understand. It was posted Dec 2 and just
arrived 3+ months later: please use email instead? VOT in 37
languages. Only issues postal QSLs, no `flags` = pennants?, stickers
or other goodies as used to 7/8 years ago before host started at VOT.
Transmission failure, off air at 0442*, back on during music at *0447.
0453 s/off still for the 1330 only, IS a sesquitime before chopoff.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [non]. 5960, March 18 at 2303, no signal of VOT into
UTwente; *2307 Xinjiang RTV, EAST TURKISTAN chops on at variable
opening, remains alone. 9610, VOT not there either but presumed
Mongolian much weaker from CNR Beijing. 5960, still nothing but
Chinese at 2336. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 17680, back on weekday frequency Mon March 18, Ukrainian aim
of VOA/Martinoticias, but dumping off air and back on around 1851,
1856, 1857; many more breaks about once a minute around 1900-1910, VG
into UTwente when on. Something`s gone wrong at Grimesland. Maybe a
spare transmitter kept closed for good reason. Jerry Lenamon says
Greenville has some Cold-War-era rhombix and curtains at 45 degrees
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2234 monitoring: Also confirmed
Sunday March 17 at 2103 on IRRS via AM Italia, 1322.997 kHz, S9+10
into UTwente across Europe. I should have rechecked before 2129
whether it were intact this week. Also confirmed at 2109 during the
2100 WRN webcast for Europe.

Also confirmed Sunday March 17 at 2230.5 on SW Radio, Germany,
3975.002, S9+10 into UTwente across Europe.

Also confirmed UT Monday March 18 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S7/S8 into
offbeam Maryland SDR with continuous noise in background - not the
first-14-seconds blast. Better into Durango2 SDR, S9+10/15, not much
noise.

NOT confirmed UT Monday March 18 at 0300 on Area 51 via WBCQ,
6159.931, S7/S8 into Maryland SDR: instead continuous miscellaneous
music with no announcements until switch to TOMBS at 0400. What
happened, Larry?

Missed checking Monday March 18 at 0930 on 6160 and 2030 on 3975 from

squeal; likewise at 1518 on 9980. Not loud but noticeable. 12160 also

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
