----------
1670 UNID - 9/20 @ 1850-1920 - Station noted testing with
Beatle's music and other rock music, some
instrumental, semi-classical music (I think, hi),
percussion instrumental, 3-IDs by a man, but
always while fading. Thought I caught "This is
??SF testing," but of course nothing resembling
that in the FCC database. Brief series of
ascending tones; series of what I can only
describe as 1 kHz (?) "Morse Code" for the letter
"E" . . . . . and so on, a 1 to 2 second pause,
and a final "E" - Trading fades with WMWR (solid
IDs heard) about 5 minutes in and 5
minutes out. Not certain if sunset skip - at times
the strength seemed semi-local.
Reception in NC between Kenansville (34.962078 N,
-77.960596 W) and Richlands
(34.83171 N, -77.576529 W). Ideas welcome! Very
73 de Mike
