Re: [IRCA] KOAK

As someone who is within spitting distance of their transmitter, I can tell you that, yes, KOAK has been pulling all-nighters for months now.  While I'm not surprised that 250 w can make it up to where Todd lives in metro Minneapolis-St. Paul, I am shocked that you're getting them there in southeast Alberta.  I am rather bothered that KOAK has made a habit of staying up past its bedtime -- ruins my chances of getting Portland.

Bill Block's post about KQNA staying on last night triggered my memory about another daytimer.    I'd done some top of hour recordings early New Year's Day, and on reviewing them yesterday found that daytimer KOAK on 1080 (Red Oak, Iowa)  was apparently on all night.  At 1000 UTC  (0500 EST) I got a very nice ID, well over KRLD and KYMN.  Very nice for 250 watts.  If anyone else has overnight recordings from the 1st you might find that rare one in there.  I'm pretty sure KYMN wasn't on their 11 watt night power either, but that seems a more common occurence, as I've heard them quite often of late.
