ETHIOPIA 9705 R. Ethiopia HoA mx 1942-1950. 1950 M anncr in pres. Amharic.
More mx to 2000 Instru. Rock mx theme and nx intro by W, then nx read by M
to 2004. More HoA mx. 2008 W again. M anncr w/break in mx pgm at 2036. W
w/poss. final nx brief at 2056. Canned M w/closing anmnt w/ment of "radio"
and "radio program", then vcl NA at 2059-2100. Deadair and off at 2102.
Great signal but had to listen in USB to avoid QRM below. (5 Sept.)
NIGER 9705 La Voix du Sahel 2235 lively Afro mx then M host in FR taking
phone call w/ments of FM, internationale, Abidjan, and back to mx. Another
brief call at 2240 w/ment of Congolaise. Another song and tried
unsuccessfully to take another call at 2243. Great Hi-life mx. 2247 another
call w/ment of FM, programme. Brief deadair at 2249 and more mx. Immediately
into Koran at 2254 to 2257. 2258 closing anmnt by M ending w/"Au revoir",
flute IS they've used for decades, then choral NA by children until blasted
out by adjacent stn at 2300. Good and clear at t/in but fading. (8 Sept.)
UNID. 6104.74 Carrier here again at 1015. Definitely has that Asian sound to
it. Not there after 1100. (10 Sept.)
PERU 5039.20 R. Libertad de Junin OC and Campo mx starting at 1022. Nice
Huayno at 1029. Full canned ID anmnt by M at 1031:10. (10 Sept.)
PERU?? 4824.48 LV de la Selva?? Carrier here at 1101. No audio noted. No
doubt a bit too late. (10 Sept.)
GUAM 9975 KTWR Big fluttery signal at 1129 w/sudden "KTWR, Agana, Guam" ID
and into CH lang. pgm. (17 Sept.)
CHINA/TAIWAN 6105 CRI *1000 tone and usual CRI melody w/anmnts by M and W.
No sign of 6104.74 signal. Did indeed find 6104.74 on the air at 1007. Much
too weak and too much 6105 QRM to get any audio. May be a spur. Have
observed the signal on the NRD-535D, Eton E-1, and Perseus. (18 Sept.)
NORTH KOREA 11709.99 // 11735.02 V.O. Korea in EG. W w/usual propaganda at
1051. 1055 tlk abt their sked. Both clear at first, but 11709.99 had
co-channel QRM at 1055. 11735.02 weaker. (18 Sept.)
PALAU 9930 KWHR "Power of Gospel Time" pgm w/M host. www.powerofgospel.org
web site. Stn ID w/QSL and addr. info, then off. Abt 100% copy. Choppy
signal though. (18 Sept.)
BRAZIL 9695.67 R. Rio Mar (pres.) OC or deadair at 1102, then soft W vcl
song at 1103. More soft rel. sounding mx. No audio at 1112, then another
song. 1115 M shouting and sounding like a live rel. mx concert. Tough with
Japan here. Mostly in the clear between 1130-1155 while Japan was off. M
anncr in lang at 1130, then rel. sounding mx w/W vcl. Haven't hrd Rio Mar in
years. (18 Sept.)
INDONESIA 9524.97 V.O. Indonesia 1157-1201 soft rom. Asian song. 1201 CH
voice-over anmnt by W w/ment of web site and ID. Another "RRI, Indonesia..."
ID anmnt at 1203. Fair and clear. (18 Sept.)
