[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-20

Hello All,
 
     After yesterday's lackluster TP propagation it  seemed like things 
could only improve, and a 1300 UTC band scan on the modified  ICF-2010 did show 
several promising carriers, on interesting frequencies  (558, 738, 756, 
etc.). Despite this indication, though,  the Asiatic propagation seem to swoon 
by 1340, as TP audio from any  station suddenly became difficult to find. A 
search from 1340-1359  revealed nothing, and it wasn't until 1400 that weak 
3 + 1 time pips  were heard on 1134 kHz.
 
     The band slowly rebounded as KBS3 audio on 1134  kHz bacame fair to 
good (in splatter) around 1415, and 594-JOUB produced  fair-good audio around 
1417. 828-JOBB (with Chinese lessons) and 972-HLCA had  modest audio around 
this time, and finally the overachieving 936-Anhui  (presumed) managed a few 
seconds of weak American R & B music before  the band collapsed around 
1430. Except for this modest, late recovery the  morning's propagation was 
miserable indeed, and Walt wasn't the only one  checking his antennas and 
receivers (I was, also :-)  Perhaps the best TP  signal received on the west coast 
this morning was this recording of 774-JOUB  around 1346 by Stephen (an 
Ultralight DXer using a PL-380 and Select-a-Tenna)  near El Cajon, California-- 
possibly because he was far removed from  the western WA / BC area?

loopstick) inductively coupled to a 9' sided PVC tuned  passive loop:
