[IRCA] TP 12 Apr; Victoria version

A bit more interesting morning, quite a number of audios, some reaching reasonable strength, though most only for a moment or two. As Dennis observed, longwave was particularly good, with four Russian LWBC heard here, two quite listenable. I didn't hear 180 however.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

none

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

189 R. Rossii man in RR 1251UT; 6 pips on hour, last one elongated.
279 R. Rossii, woman in RR 1303UT
774 JOUB man in JJ, woman in EE 1256UT
1566 HLAZ very readable, man in JJ 1310UT. Hung in there quite well , and even at 1345UT, still had woman talking in recognizable JJ fading up to guitar music just before pattern change, with HLAZ and "nihongo" mentions.

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

738 Tahiti man in FF 1311UT
828 JOBB "hi there and welcome to..." by woman, peaking suddenly 1320UT just after what sounded like call letter ID.

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

153 R. Rossii, Doors "Light My Fire" //189 1246UT
234 R. Rossii, Doors mx //189 1246UT
747 JOIB man and woman talking // 774 1259UT
891 JOHK? woman talking JJ inflection, 1302UT
972 HLCA? woman talking, hard to guess at language, 1258 and 1313UT; 3 and 1 pips on hour
1053 KK jammer 1300UT
1134 unID, man talking 1306UT, might have been JJ or KK, but too murky in splash
1287 JOHR? woman talking 1303UT
1323 man talking at 1306UT, maybe RR inflection, if so, presumed CRI

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

864 945 1098 1575

best wishes,

Nick
